Jose Rizal was viewed as a revolutionary in his era. a despised person who only deserved to die.

Even
though he promoted nonviolence, he was put to death on December 30, precisely 125 years ago today,
in a location designated for public executions. He was held up as a stark example for anybody who dared
to oppose the powerful.

Rizal, a reform-minded physician and prolific writer, is regarded as the Philippines' national hero. He was
born and passed away at the conclusion of Spain's 350-year colonial empire. His ideas flourished after his
passing. and developed into a beating reality. Spain was finally overthrown by the Filipinos. Today, the
monuments to Rizal are seen all throughout the world, where the sun never sets.

José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda is his full name. He served as an inspiration for the
Philippine independence movement and was a patriot, physician, master poet, and writer. Spanish
colonial overlords, who dominated the Philippines for 350 years, killed him at the age of 35.

On June 19, 1861, Rizal was born to Teodora Morales Alonzo Realonda de Rizal y Quintos and Francisco
Engracio Rizal Mercado y Alejandro in Calamba, Laguna province, 54 kilometers south of Manila.
