The seminar conducted by the Unisan Rescue Team last August 14, 2019. The
subject of the seminar are the all first year student of PUP Unisan. The rescue team
says that there is two kinds of deserter which are the Man-made Disaster and the
Natural Disaster. The rescue divided us into 3 groups and every group has a different
station.

In the first station we discussed the Basic Life Support (CPR). It is an emergency
procedure that combines chest compressions often with artificial ventilation in an effort
to manually preserve intact brain function until further measures are taken to restore
spontaneous blood circulation and breathing in a person who is in cardiac arrest. The
rescue says that there is to kind of victim, victim without no signs of breathing but there
is a pulse and a victim that no pulse but there has a breathing. The guidelines is from
AHA (American Heart Association). the rescue tells us before we commit to help the
victim, first we will check if the scene is safe second introduce your self to the victim and
now he/she is your patient check if the CAB: Circulation, Airway, and Breathing. Third
procedure is to begin the CPR (30 compression, 3 blows, 5 cycle). And lastly move the
victim into the recovery position.
In the second station we discussed the different lift and moving of a victim. First
we discuss how to use spine board properly. A spinal board, is a patient handling
device used primarily in pre-hospital trauma care. It is designed to provide rigid support
during movement of a person with suspectedspinal or limb injuries.

In the third station we discussed the Bandaging Technique. First we discuss the
parts of a Triangular bandage, the base, apex, sides, and the end. The rescue also tells
as about the different folds of a triangular bandage, the broad fold cravat, and the
narrow cravat. The rescue teach us on how to apply the different bandaging technique
to a patient. Like the hand bandaging which is use for a fractured hand. The head
bandaging is for an injured head causes of burns or if there has open wounds. And the
other bandaging technique that the rescue teach us to apply to a patient.
