The National Artist Insignia

- a Grand Collar adorned by circular links representing the arts


- The main medallion commemorates the sun and the colors of the Philippine flag
- The highly stylized three letter Ks stand for “katotohanan, kabutihan, at
kagandahan” (the true, the good, and the beautiful).

1. Benedicto Cabrera
- noted as "arguably the best-selling painter of his generation of Filipino artists
- born April 10, 1942
- Sabel in Blue is one of his most known painting

2. Abdulmari Asia Imao
- Aside from being a sculptor, Imao is also a painter,
photographer, ceramist, cultural researcher, documentary film maker, writer, and
a patron of Philippine Muslim art and culture
- A Tausūg, Imao is the first Moro to receive the recognition.
- Born on 14 January 1936
- Died 16 December 2014 (aged 78)
- His most known artworks are Sarimanok (a giant mythical multi colored chicken)

-  a Filipino dancer, choreographer, stage designer and artistic director.
- Obusan is credited for his work in promoting Philippine traditional dance and

- a Filipino actor, director and politician. His long career as an action film star
earned him the nickname "King of Philippine Movies" (often shortened to "Da
King").

- the country's first and only fashion designer to receive this distinction.
- In 2017, his work was displayed in an exhibit called Valera and the Modern: An
Exhibit on the Life and Work of National Artist for Fashion Design, Ramon
Valera[4] which was curated by Gerry Torres at De La Salle-College of St.
Benilde’s School of Design and Arts Gallery.
- Valera's gowns have been worn by notable Filipina women including Gloria
Romero, Barbara Perez and Imelda Marcos.

1. Manuel Conde
- was a Filipino actor, director and producer. As an actor, he also used the screen
name Juan Urbano during the 1930s aside from his more popular screen name.

1. Alice Reyes
-  is a Filipina dancer, choreographer, teacher, director and producer. The founder
(together with Eddie Elejar) of Ballet Philippines
- She was chiefly responsible in popularizing contemporary dance with the Alice
Reyes Dance Company which staged the first modern dance concert at the
Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater on February, 1970.

- was a Filipino comic books illustrator and writer and is regarded as one of the
“pillars of the Philippine Komiks Industry”

- was a Filipino architect considered as one of the most influential Filipino
architects of the 20th century for having pioneered the art of Philippine

7. Eric “Kidlat Tahimik” Oteyza de Guia
- is a film director, writer and actor whose films are commonly associated with
the Third Cinema movement through their critiques of neocolonialism.
- One of the most prominent names in the Filipino film industry, he has garnered
various accolades locally and internationally, including a Plaridel honorarium for
independent cinema.
