Step 1
In the XProtect Management Client, select “Tools” – “Options”. Use the small scroll arrows
over to the Generic Events tab. Click “New” to create a new data source. Name the data
source Fiber SenSys, choose the settings below (your port number may be different). Add the
IP address from the remote computer (running the Fiber SenSys Integrator) into the box for
“Allowed external IPv4”. Be sure to check the “Enable” button when finished. Note the port
number, you will need to enter it into the Fiber SenSys Integrator configuration.
Step 2
In the Fiber SenSys Integrator, select “File” – “Configuration”. Enter the IP address of the
Milestone XProtect server. Enter the port number from Step 1.
Step 3
In the Fiber SenSys Integrator, select “File” – “Export Event List”. Save this file to the desktop
and then open.
Step 4
In the XProtect Management Client, select “Generic Events” from the tree under the Rules
and Events section. Create a new Generic Event for each Intrusion Message found in the Event
List from Step 3. Name these events as you desire. Copy the “Expression” for each Generic
Event from the Event List and enter it into the Expression box. Select the correct Expression
type and enter the Data source (Fiber SenSys, from step 1). Be sure to check the “Enable” box
and then save for each crated Generic Event.
Step 5
In the XProtect Management Client, from the tree, under Alarm, select Alarm
Definitions. Create a new alarm definition for each Generic event that you made in Step
4. Name the alarm definition as you desire. In the trigger area select “External Events” then in
the dropdown select the correct Generic Event that you made in step 4. Set the Active period
to Always. Be sure to select the “Enable” box at the top and then save.
Step 6
In the XProtect Smart Client, make sure that you have configured a view that shows the alarm
list. When an alarm is made, it should show up in the alarm list.
Follow these steps and let me know if you still have trouble.
