Steps to Christ Summary

Nature and revelation alike testify of God’s love. Our father in heaven is our source of
wisdom, life and joy. In Psalm 145:15, 16 “15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest
them their meat in due season.16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living
thing. All of His creatures feel the love of the Creator’s. In this chapter we were reminded of
God’s love that He sent Christ here on earth to reveal Thy Father. Matthew 11:27 “27 All things
are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither
knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
While on earth Christ show us love, mercy and compassion. He humbles Himself to us so we
were not be afraid to come to Him. Yet, God suffered with His Son, as we sinned against Him.
To pay the price He gave His only begotten Son to redeem us. We were called to the son of God.
1 John 3:1 “3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be
called the sons of God.” Such love is without parallel. A matchless love of God for a world that
did not love Him.

Man before sin was originally endowed with noble power and a well-balance mind. But
through disobedience, selfishness took the place of love. Satan made man his captive. Its purpose
is to fill the earth with desolation. After the sin, man cannot find pureness of joy and was afraid
to the extent man hide in the presence of God. Romans 8:7 “7 Because the carnal mind is enmity
against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. Mind and heart keep
disconnecting to God’s glory. By this it is impossible for a man to escape from the pit of sin
without Christ. Through Christ earth will again linked with heaven. He connects fallen man in
his weakness and helplessness with the Source (God) infinite power. John 14:6 “I am the way,
the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. God yearns over His children
with a love that is stronger than death. Man (We) need to appreciate the labor and energy that the
Heaven is expending to reclaim the lost and bring them back to the Father’s house. Let us
contemplate the amazing sacrifice that has been made for us.

As man sinned to our Heavenly Father the first thing they must do is to repent.
The people who heard Peter sermons ask him, “37 what shall we do?” Acts 2:37, 38. And Peter
answered “38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the
remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost”. Repentance includes sorrow
for sin and turning away from it. But when man repent their sins there is no deep heartbreaking
grief in his soul. They were force to repent because of guilt and there was no sign of genuine
repentance for sin. The repentance on David’s prayer on Psalm 51:1-14 gives us example the
true sorrow for sin. But this is beyond man’s reach but could obtain it only from Christ. Christ is
the source of every right impulse. Every desire for purity and truth, every conviction of own’s
sinfulness, is evidence that His Spirit is moving upon man’s hearts. All man can do is to not
resist on this love that he will be drawn to Jesus. The thirsty may come to drink the water of life
freely. Revelation 22:17 ”17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say,
Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life
freely”. If you longed something better than this world can give you ask Him to give you
repentance, to reveal Christ to you in His infinite love, in His perfect purity. There are degrees of
guilt for every sin that man commit. And there is sin that is offensive in His sight. But when man
will pray like the poor publican in Luke 18:13 “ 13 God be merciful to me a sinner” the Spirit of
God will do His gracious work on his heart to set him free from sin. Christ is always ready to
free man from sin. Psalm 139: 23, 24 “ 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and
know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way
everlasting”.

The apostle says, “16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye
may be healed” James 5:16. Man should confess their sins to God, that they may be forgiven.
But with man’s pride they do not humble their souls before God in acknowledging their guilt.
They are afraid to acknowledge their sin. Confession will not be acceptable to God without
sincere repentance and reformation. Man should be direct and specific. By the humble and
broken heart, with genuine repentance, will appreciate something of the love of God and the cost
of Calvary. But how man should do this? Man should consider to ask what has Christ give to
them. And when man realize what was the sacrifice for redemption, they will change one’s life.
A constant surrender to God will enable man to live the new life. Man, now were taught how to
believe. The Bible shows a lot of situations how Jesus healed the sick, cure the blind and many
more. God promises to do all these things for man (us) through Christ. And if man believe the
promise- he will be forgiven and be cleansed. Such a wonder blessing a man could have. When
man has lived his life of faith, Satan works to draw man back. But do not be in doubt, man
should often bow down and weep at the feet of Jesus for the shortcoming and mistakes and man
should not be discourage.

God showered grace upon us (man). With this we (man), shall surrender our plans at thy
feet and let God do His work to our life. As Jesus came here to earth, man was tied with His love
that no can break. As man were living here on earth, man shall also sacrifice anytime. Time,
work, plans are things man can sacrifice to be with God. It is a great privilege to be God’s
servant. The Highest and noblest position man could obtain. He wants man to show the world
what God can do. What God wants them to know and hear. He wants man to represent Him and
a blessing to other. As man was the laborers of God, God want them to be humble as it is to the
Lord. “23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men” Colossians 3:23.
When man study the word of God (bible), no human can understand it without the presence of
the Holy Spirit. We must pray to Him to understand every word from it, and the knowledge of
heaven will be with us(man).

Man, also taught how to pray. Be concise and specific. Man must show forgiveness and
love in their hearts. Prayer must not only contain what man requests but also contains
thankfulness. Believe what you pray for faith is needed in prevailing prayer. Pray unceasingly is
the unbroken union of the soul with God. Let every man dwell with true happiness, Psalm 37:3
“3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed”.
When man cleansed their soul from sin and surrender fully to God, men find true happiness in
their heart, they rejoice what God brings, the gates of heaven will be open to admit them as
children of God. And glory will be music in their ears. A heavenly triumph.
