SPOTLIGHT

This year in the grade 2/3 class, each student will have the opportunity to be the Student
of the Week. During this week, he/she will have sharing time with the class and enjoy
special privileges such as being line leader, teacher’s helper and reading to the class. I like
to call this “being in the Spotlight”!

This is our Spotlight schedule:

Monday – Student in the Spotlight shares five of their favourite photos of

themselves, family and friends. These pictures will be displayed in our
classroom all week. Students are encouraged to bring in photos that display
things such as hobbies, family members, special interests, talents, favourite
toys and objects as well as pictures of themselves from previous school
years.

Tuesday - Student in the Spotlight may bring in one item for Show and
Tell or tell a story about something wonderful they have done, seen or
want to do.

Wednesday - Student in the Spotlight will read the class their favourite
book (if it is a chapter book, students will be asked to read
their favourite part).

Thursday - Student in the Spotlight will choose “Gotcha” ballets from

the box for our weekly draw and will also receive a prize.

Friday - Student in the Spotlight will receive a certificate for participation

and will draw a name for Spotlight next week.

It would be appreciated if you could help your child prepare when it is their special week.
The goal is to give each student an opportunity to shine!

Thanks for your support!
