What’s your favourite typical food?

SPEAKER 1
Sam, San Francisco, The USA

My name’s Sam. I’m from San Francisco in the USA. I love American Cuisine.
Hamburgers with french fries are my favourite dish, of course. But I’m not
talking about just one type of burgers. I usually visit several different fast
food restaurants to try cheese burgers, onion burgers, soy burgers, etc. I also
enjoy eating macaroni and cheese. I have macaroni and cheese at least
twice a week. My mom makes the best macaroni and cheese in the world.
And one last typical American dish I like a lot is peanut butter sandwiches.
It’s part of my breakfast. I generally eat a jar of peanut butter every week.

SPEAKER 2
Sienna, Rome, Italy

I am Sienna. I’m Italian and I live in England. I love Italian food and
fortunately, there are some Italian restaurants here in London. I love pasta
and my favourite dish is lasagna. My roomie, Aesha, and I sometimes have
lasagna on Sunday. I enjoy cooking at the weekend. Aesha is Indian, and she
loves Italian food too. She also likes pizza, so we sometimes go out with
some college friends on Friday night to have a large peperoni pizza with a
thin crust. That’s our favourite topping. Italian cuisine is also popular for its
desserts. If I have to choose one, I will choose Tiramisu. I think its coffee
flavour together with cheese are very delicious.

SPEAKER 3
Cho, Tokyo, Japan

My name’s Cho. I’m from Tokyo. Everybody knows sushi. It’s the most
popular Japanese dish but it isn’t my favourite. I sometimes make sushi
because my family loves it. I love seafood, and there is a dish called
‘tempura’ which is made of vegetables and seafood covered in batter and
then fried. Another of my favourites is Onigiri, they are rice balls that can be
filled with chicken or tuna mayonnaise and they are wrapped in nori
seaweed. I prefer the onigiri with tuna mayonnaise. They are simply
delicious. Rice is also used to make desserts. For example, we have Mochi
which are chewy Japanese cakes made of rice and it can have different
flavours.
