The Philippine’s health care system must be improved. Like any other countries, healthcare is
one of the primary concern for the people that is a citizen of a particular country. Our own healthcare is
better than over the past decades it is because the former President Rodrigo, Roa Duterte has sign a law
that expands the coverage of Philihealth and the requirement will be only a proof of citizenship of being
a Filipino. The Law is called “Universal health care” act. On the past years, the membership of the
Philhealth is different and the privilege on having it has requirements of eligibility, from being an
employee of a government department to having a capacity to pay the monthly billings. But with the
help if the universal health care, all Filipinos are now automatically enrolled and a member of Philhealth
and can use its benefits. The healthcare system in the country should be expanded, monitored and be
maintained, especially to those rural or provincial areas where hospitals and medical facilities are scarce.
The limitations of health care awareness, pharmacies or drugstores, hospitals and medical staffs are
those things needed to be considered to serve better healthcare to the areas that is remote or do not
have access on medical services. Although, the government has limited budget, the upgrading of
highways and innovation of new transportation and routes is suggested for emergencies and safe
travelling for patients and staffs. Proper compensation to those who are assigned to remote or rural
areas are also suggested, tools, equipment and test will help extend the healthcare system spread all
over the country. By that, the incidence like what Mr.Gregorio, His wife and staffs has experience maybe
avoided in present and in future medical emergencies.
