2. Answer the question as required. Unless if the question requires multiple answers, if you
provide multiple answers, you will be incorrectly marked.
3. Students must upload their answer scripts in a single .pdf file (answer scripts must not
be password protected or uploaded as “read only” files).
4. Students suspected of dishonest conduct during the examinations will be subjected to
disciplinary processes. UNISA has a zero tolerance for plagiarism and/or any other forms

5. Clear systematic and neat exposition of the questions is important.
6. Limit your answer in accordance to the marks allocated for the question.

1.1 Using an example, explain the difference between the role that maintenance and
maintenance management plays in the maintenance function. (2)
1.2 Figure 1 indicates the organogram for Company XYZ. Explain the type of organisation
this represents and justify your answer.
