RITA FE C. GUNN, PhD

OIC-PENR Officer/ Concurrent PASu, MPLS
DENR-PENRO Davao de Oro
Purok 2, Nabunturan, Davao de Oro

Dear PENRO Gunn,

Greetings!

Please be informed that some portions of Mabini PLS are experiencing shoreline erosion
brought by natural phenomena such as strong wind and waves, climate change, among
others. I observed that the trees bordering the shoreline fronting our resort have exposed
their roots due to sand erosion, some of which were already leaning towards the sea which
indicates that they are slowly falling on the ground. If left on their own, these trees might
end up dying soon.

Relative to this, we would like to seek approval from the PAMB to allow us to establish a
riprap measuring 12 meters in length, 0.25 meter in width and 1 meter in height, as a
shoreline protection structure fronting our resort to save and protect the trees which are
endangered from getting uprooted by waves. The same shall be included in the
Comprehensive Development and Management Plan (CDMP) as part of the requirements
for our SAPA application.

Rest assured that the proposed shoreline protection structure shall not in any way cause
obstruction or impeded access of the public to the shoreline.

Hoping for your favorable response to this request. Thank you very much!

Very truly yours,

MARIBEL BABATID
