QUANTITY INGREDIENTS
1 cup / 250 ml all-purpose flour
1/2 cup / 125 ml whole wheat flour
1 tsp / 5 ml baking powder
1 tsp / 5 ml baking soda
3/4 cup / 175 ml granulated sugar
1/4 cup / 50 ml canola oil
1 tbsp / 15 ml milk or soy milk
2 large eggs
1 cup / 250 ml mashed banana, about 2 medium
1 tbsp / 25 ml cocoa powder

Marbled Chocolate Banana Bread
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and baking
soda.
In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, milk, eggs and mashed banana.
Remove 1/4 cup (50 ml) of the batter and mix with cocoa powder in a small bowl. Set aside.
Drizzle the cocoa mixture over the batter in the pan, and then drag a knife through the batter to
create a marbled effect.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until cooked through (when a knife inserted in the centre comes out
clean).
