Worldwide Team

We are a winning team.

Our global success is the product of experience driven by a commitment to expand, explore and diversify the application of
technology to improve manufacturing processes.

This has been Crippa’s mission since 1948, and we continue to grow, evolve, and innovate today to ensure we will always be
ready to make a difference tomorrow and in the future.
Our Company

History over 70 years

Established by Agostino Crippa in 1948 as a one-man company to design and build

machines to process and work metal tubes, Crippa became a limited company in
1977 as the business grew and thrived. Internationally recognized as a technology
leader today, Crippa is globally respected for the quality, productivity, and innovation
embodied in its machines and solutions.

Experience and innovation

For more than 70 years, Crippa SpA has been designing and building machines and
processes applied towards advanced technological solutions for the bending process
and manufacturing of metallic tubes. We have been the first company to:
• design and build a tube bending machine with CNC
• design and build a tube bending machine with right and left bending
• design and build different radii and different planes on a single tube bending
machine
• integrate variable radii in bending process
• design and build full electric tube bending machines

Quality Policy
In 2003 Crippa’s Quality Management System was certified as ISO 9001:2000
compliant by an internationally accredited Certification agency. Our Quality Policy
promotes:
• Continuous improvement of all company activities and processes
• Pursuit of customer satisfaction in both products and services
• Ongoing staff training to improve skills and performance

Quality approach
Crippa continuously monitors these key indicators:
• Supplier performance
• Internal Organizational Activities including control of delivery times and
compliance with supply requirements
• Cost impact of internal and external quality issues
• Customer satisfaction with Crippa products and services
• Staff training and skill enhancement
• These indicators are monitored and assessed by the Crippa management
team and the results are used to define new quality goals.

The Quality Policy is regularly reviewed and validated as part of the Management
Review process to ensure its continuing effectiveness.

End Forming – Tube end machines

End Forming Machines

Crippa CNC end forming machines are available with

ram capacities up to 60 tons and the ability to perform
up to 6 different forming operations in an automatic
cycle. Their strength and rigidity ensures high
precision, while the flexibility of 3 controlled axes
allows integration into working cells or existing
systems.
Working cells – Full automatic machines
Crippa designs and builds fully automatic production cells
integrating tube bending and end forming machines with part

handling automation, robotics, and control systems. These

systems deliver optimum quality and productivity with single
source responsibility and Crippa quality.

Special Challenge – special Machines

Crippa Special Machines are one-of-a-kind solutions to our customers’ most challenging applications. Blending Full Electric
technology with hydraulic clamps, Crippa Special Machines offer both standard and push bending.

Crippa designs and builds a full range of bending and end
Crippa’s service staff includes expertise in pre- and post-
forming tooling. We can work from a set of Cartesian or
installation consultation, technical assistance, training,
polar coordinates, a solid model, or from the bent tube
software support, tooling, program maintenance, and spare
geometry to quickly design the best tooling solution for a
parts management. Many situations can be resolved

Linear 150LE|bending
CNC bending machine

Main features of this model:

• Ability to use several toolsets simultaneously to bend different radii and have different clamps for
end formed or compound tubes.
• “Full electric” technology. Extreme flexibility and absolute control of every single movement guarantee: high quality
bends, short set-up and start-up times, reduced scrap. Considerable energy savings compared to hydraulic machines.
• A special electronic circuit allows the recovery of process energy with a savings of 50/60% compared to
traditional systems.
• Ability to make bends with a less than 0.8 Rm/ Ø ratio.
• Ability to make variable radius bends.
• High rigidity of each mechanic member, which allows obtaining the best precision and repeatability.
• Rapid tool change (collet, mandrel, wiper-dies, bending former shaft, tie bars).

Fields of employment:
Automotive, aerospace, shipyards, and plant design.

Main Mechanical Groups

Bend Head
It is the part of the machine specifically dedicated to bend the
tube. The bending movement is obtained using an electric digital
servomotor. The bending head is characterized by its small
dimensions thank to its high strength materials.

Positioner carriage
The carriage positions the tube according to the distances
between the bends and to the programmed plane of bending
axes (Y and B).
The carriage moves across precision rails, which use recirculating
balls bearings. The linear movement (Y axis) is determined by the
rotation of a pinion upon a rack. The rotation movement (B axis) is
guaranteed by precision gears. Digital electric servomotors control
the movement of the axes (Y and B).

Centralized lubrication system

Automatic lubrication is set by frequency for all movmoving
machine parts.

Electric System
It’s manufactured according to CEI_EN rules. Optionally, it can be
manufactured according to UL or CSA rules.
