voice.
 With your voice, you can produce sounds that are different quality.
This quality of sound is called timbre. Your voice can be light or heavy,
thin or thick, high or low.
 Musical instruments are another source of sound. Musical instruments
differ in timbre too. This because of the materials used and the size of
the instruments.
 Some musical instruments have pitch, while some musical instruments
have no pitch, or are unpitched. Musical instruments that we strike, hit
or beat are called percussion instruments.
Here are some of the unpitched percussion instruments:

 rhythmic sticks are made of wood

that you strike or rub together to
produce a clicking sound.

 tambourine is made of wood or

plastic with metallic jingles at the
sides. It is played by shaking or

CONCEPT:

Space is the distance or area between, around, above, below and within things.
Even through your drawing is two-dimensional (having length and width), you will be
able to make it appear three-dimensional (having length, width and depth) by using
different techniques, like the following:
1. Overlapping – put one shape on top of another.
2. Size – far shapes are drawn smaller while near shapes are drawn bigger.
3. Focus – put more details on closer objects and fewer details on distant objects.
4. Placement – far objects are drawn higher while the closer ones are drawn lower.

Lines will help you show movement of the person or persons you are drawing.
Contrast of texture can also help your audience or viewer feel and understand the
person or group or people that you draw. You can do this by drawing different lines-
lines going in the same direction or crisscrossing each other, lines that can be near or
apart from each other like a pattern, as well as dark and light lines. Using contrast of
textures, you will also help your audience see the details of your drawing.
Since people have unique features, shapes will help you form their facial and body
features.
When drawing portrait, it is also important to apply
balance or to arrange the elements so that no part of the
work seems heavier than the other parts. A movement in
one part of the body is countern0balanced by movement
on the opposite side, like a weighting scale.
Drawing by seeing the details of the subject
Look deeper into your subject by observing all the
details. When you are sketching, you cannot capture all the
details at once. After seeing your subject in careful details,
you will be able to sketch not just one the mole, scar, and
lines on his or her face and body, but also the details of the
clothes he or she is wearing.

CONCEPT:

Your body can form different shapes. Body shapes can be narrow, wide, wide
and round just like the picture below.

Aside from narrow, wide and round shapes, your body can make symmetrical
and asymmetrical shapes with your body too.
Symmetrical shapes happen when the shape you
formed with the right and left side of your body are
the same.

Asymmetrical shapes happen when the shapes

you formed with the right and left side of your body
are different from each other.

There are movements done in place. These are callred non-locomotor

movements. Walking, jumping, crawling, sliding and hopping are called locomotor
movements. These are movements that transfer the body from one place to another.
Below are other non-locomotor and locomotor movents that your body can do.
Non-locomotor Movements Locomotor Movements
Strecth walk
raise jump
twist run
rotate hop
bend skip

A cyclist needs to balance his body a lot. Balance is holding a

body still through a base of support. The base support maybe
wide or narrow.
