REPORT OF SEMINAR ON NURSING PROCESS

On 10/08/2022 We, M.Sc. Nursing 1st year batch 2021-2023, Organized a seminar on Nursing process under
the guidance of Mrs. Rina Raj Clinical Instructor KGMU, CON .

The programme was started by taking a Pre- test on nursing process in which B.Sc. 1st year and B.Sc. 2nd
year students participated.

From 9:00 am onwards our first session on Assessment, was taken by Ms. Rimmi (Group Ist), She explained
about the importance of Assessment, types of Assessment and the head to toe assessment in brief to the
students.

Introduction and welcome of all the dignitaries were done by Ms. Swati Rai, and welcome address of the
programme was given by Ms. Victoria Angela Fernandez.

From 10:00 am onwards our inaugural function was started by grace of goddess Saraswati and lighting the
lamp was done by our Honorable Principal, Mrs. Rashmi P. John, KGMU College of Nursing and all the
faculties: Mr. Subin S (A.P), Mrs. Rina Raj (CI), Mrs. Anugrah Charan (CI), Ms. Loveena A. Sameul
(Nursing Tutor), Mrs. Mathivathani M. (Nursing Tutor) and Ms. Sarita Singh (Nursing Tutor).

Mrs. Rina Raj Has given the invocation and Briefing of the programme. She gave information about the
origin, Importance, Purpose and the benefits of the Nursing Process for the students.
Words of Wisdom was given by Mrs. Rashmi P. John, Principal, KGMU College of Nursing, she motivated
the students to learn and apply the skills of Nursing process in the clinical Area.

Vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and Faculty was given by Ms. Swati Rai.

IInd session on Nursing Diagnosis was taken by Mr. Ashutosh Sharma, He explained about the PES System
I,e; Problem, Etiology and Sign and symptom; for writing the Nursing diagnosis.

IIIrd Session on Planning was Taken by Ms. Sushmita, She explained about the Process of planning,
Priortization, Setting of Short term and Long term Goal.

A small role play was done by Mrs. Vaishanvi, Ms. Chetna Mishra and Ms. Akshita Awasthi; on the basis of
which students were asked to write Five Nursing Diagnosis and was evaluated by organizing team.

IVth Session was taken by Mrs. Mridula Devi, She explained about the implementation of the planned action
for improving the health condition of the Patient.

Vth Session was taken by Ms. Victoria Angela Fernandez, She explained about the importance, methods and
steps of evaluation. She summarized the Session in brief by giving examples.

Ms. Loveena A. Sameul explained about the Method of writing Nursing Care plan steps wise by providing
different examples.

At last a post test was conducted for the B.Sc. Nursing Ist and B.Sc. Nursing IInd Year, were the mean score
was 12.36.

Feedback Was taken by the students, they shared their thoughts and opinions on the seminar where they said
that it was very knowledge Enhancing and Nicely organized by the seniors but could be more interactive.
