Dear Ms. Llamas:

My name is Jared Gimbel, and I am an aspiring adapted physical education teacher who is
looking to teach in a K-12 public school setting. As indicated on my resume, I have significant
experience working with students with disabilities from grade levels K-12. I also have a
background working with high school students as a volleyball coach. While my original
bachelor’s degree was in business, I have found my true passion in teaching as it is truly
rewarding, and I love working with students with disabilities. I would enjoy teaching at La Habra
City School District if given the opportunity.

I am currently still enrolled at California State University, Long Beach and have been observing
teachers in the La Habra district. I have observed and helped current adapted physical education
teacher Wendy Arteaga with her classes. I have learned how to provide direct services, conduct
assessment, modify activities, and write Individualized Education Programs for individuals with
disabilities. I have completed over 50 hours of student observation work with individuals with
disabilities. I am currently looking to receive my Single Subject Physical Education teaching
credential with added adapted authorization in Spring 2024.

I have been mentoring and helping develop other undergraduate students during my time at
California State University, Long Beach through being a student assistant for Dr. Bittner. I have
help students develop their own teaching styles and creating a universally designed learning style
for their future students.

As someone who has hands-on experience and strong drive, I believe I would be a great fit for
