III. Rationale:
The Department of Education continuously takes its initiative in upskilling especially
kindergarten teachers to address learners needs. We all know that this is the first ladder for
learners’ holistic development. In this stage, the child needs to master more and more complex
levels of moving, thinking, feeling and interacting with people and objects in the environment.
Hence, there is the need for the teacher to be capacitated about certain changes and
adjustments especially on the essential competencies, method and techniques in order to cope
since the hit of pandemic. This echo training initiative is put in place to support its
implementation and for effective delivery of instruction. More so, Kindergarten teachers will be
trained to equip with the basic and the right skills needed in achieving goals for its noble
pursuits.

Objectives:
1. To present and discuss the Omnibus Policy on Kindergarten Education.
2. To explore the process on the selection essential competencies.
3. To discuss the significance of Early Childhood and Development
4. To present the procedure of administering the ECD Checklist.
5. To present the steps on how to score the different domains in the ECD Checklist and
DLL preparation.
6. To disclose the Administration and on the Accomplishment of Progress Report for
Kindergarten.
7. To provide participants the avenue for hands-on experience in the Unpacking of
MELC, administering ECD Checklist and Accomplishment of Progress Report Card.
