Air Blown Fibre Bundles

FIBRE BUNDLES
FIBRE BUNDLES – Multimode OM2

Introduction & Features

The fibre bundles are set in a buffer layer providing excellent

dimensional and thermal stability. The outer thermoplastic
layer provides a high level of protection and excellent installation
properties. The unit is designed for blowing into microducts
and tube bundles. Fibre bundles are available in fibre counts of
2, 4, 8 or 12.

COMMON DATA (all fibre counts):

Bend Radius: See below. Recommend bend radius of tube bundles in routes to be 0.5m radius or
more.
Temperatures: Storage: -30°C to +70°C
Installation: -5°C to +50°C
Lifetime: -20°C to +50°C
Fibre colour sequence: Blue, orange, green, brown, slate, white, red, black, yellow, violet, rose, aqua.

Breakout:
1. Remove sheath with Miller tool using a rotary motion.
2. Gently crush the end to separate fibres.
3. Pull apart the fibres in groups. This then leaves the loose fibres that require no cleaning with solvent.
4. Use Miller strippers to strip fibres.

Optical Parameters:
Fibre type: Multimode G651 ITU-T and MHT 1403
Attenuation: 2.6dB/km max at 850nm
