TOPIC 3: OBSERVANCE OF MONTHLY ETHICAL VALUES

DISCUSSANT: CHERRIE D. FRANCISCO

Teaching EsP is a lot more than you think it is. Some may think it is a simple
subject but it is a very broad subject to teach. Through this LAC session, we teachers
of EsP are educated with monthly ethical values we can integrate and use in our daily
class. This is many help to teachers especially to students. Students not only learn
their lesson but also develop a value as well through the help of integrating these
monthly ethical values. The speaker taught many valuable things in teaching like
different set of activities integrated by different values to help us help our students
enjoy and love learning more. As we strive to help our student’s progress
academically, we teachers also want to improve ourselves in our different strategies
of teaching. With these, we hope to be the best of what we can be. As EsP teachers
these ethical values help us guide our students in their attitude to be always correct
and right.

TOPIC 4: VALUES ORIENTATION AND INCALCATION AMONG

LEARNERS
DISCUSSANT: SHARON V. PAGHUNASAN

Teaching what is right and avoiding what is wrong is a job to be fulfill by

teachers and imparting them to their students. The most important thing to be teach
to students is values. The speaker discussed many theories about values orientation
and we are inform of different things. The speaker also explained how it is very
important to inculcate values in everyday teachings because it can help students
develop their skills and their overall personality. Children can learn to discover
themselves through teaching them what the right values are. It can support their
growth in all aspects of their lives. It can also help them treat themselves right and
others as well. These also can guide them to the right path in life. Qualification and
intelligence are important but a good character is essential which can make any
personality stand out from others. Moral values help people to be more selfless and
put the needs of others before themselves.

TOPIC 5: CHILD ABUSE

DISCUSSANT: LARLYN G. ARTEZA

Every children are unique in their own way. They are different based on their
characteristics and attitudes. In connection with these, teachers must be creative in
handling different characteristics of students they are teaching. When a child
misbehaves or do something wrong, we as facilitators must teach them a lesson in a
way that we could not hurt their feelings. In this situation, we can relate an issue that
is rampant to children nowadays which is the child abuse. We as teachers must be
aware of the correct definition of child abuse. This will help us know our learners
more and guide them in a good way. We also must be a trusted person so that if our
learners are experiencing child abuse, we can help them in our own way. It is
important also that we behave accordingly as what the Magna Carta says we must do,
because we might hurt our learners physically, or through our words. Our classroom
must be a place safe for our learners and we must make them feel that way also. Let
us all help our learners learn and at the same time be safe and free from abuses they
are experiencing from their daily lives.

TOPIC 5: POSITIVISM
DISCUSSANT: MARY ANN S. RECOCO

Truly, teaching is an enjoyable yet a challenging work. Every day you might
face different circumstances that you are not used. A changing world and generation
of students means a change in our attitude as teachers adapting to our current day-to-
day situation. The speaker emphasized many suggestions on how we can enjoy work
and being positive most of the time we have in teaching. Thinking before acting also
helps, for us to reflect on what we should do and say. It is important that in teaching,
we know each of our students. This will help us bring the most out of them and teach
them in a way they will enjoy and learn at the same time. Anger is not always the
solution but being patient in the way we speak and act. Make our students feel the
love we have for them through our willingness to teach them right, our care and our
concern.

TOPIC 5: THE IMPORTANCE OF STUDENT DISCIPLINE IN CLASSROOM

DISCUSSANT: SHEILA JANE G. DELOS ANGELES

Classroom management is a learning process for both teachers and students.

For teachers, it is about preparing the classroom, the learning environment, and the
students for learning. The challenge for students is to meet the standards set by
teachers. As a common theme at home, many students do not always know how to
control their behavior. The purpose of education must therefore be to help students
develop and shape their character and promote self-discipline. In fact, there is a
correlation between issues related to class management. Behavior, character,
discipline, subject matter, morality. Teachers need to engage with classroom
diversity, student backgrounds, emotions and thoughts to understand how classroom
management strategies can be implemented from a thoughtful and democratic
perspective.
A good teacher should be aware that good teaching discipline requires
different skills than teaching. These skills include perseverance, respect, example,
resoluteness, anger control, and consistency. When dealing with misconduct,
teachers should ensure that all students learn what is unacceptable about the
behavior. Getting angry or stressed will not make you less likely to cheat in the
future. Maintaining a well-trained classroom often starts with the attitude of the
teachers themselves.
