To Find The General Rule For The NT
To Find The General Rule For The NT
find the common difference (d) between any two consecutive terms. We can do this by
subtracting the first term from the second term:
16 - 10 = 6
Now we can use the general formula for the nth term of an arithmetic sequence:
where a_1 is the first term (10 in this case), n is the number of the term we want
to find, and d is the common difference (6 in this case).
a_n = 10 + (n - 1)6
a_n = 6n + 4
So the general rule for the nth term of this arithmetic sequence is 6n + 4.
To find the 100th term of the sequence, we simply substitute n = 100 into the
formula:
a_100 = 6(100) + 4
a_100 = 604
