Students use mini-whiteboards for formative assessments in class. To distribute and collect the whiteboards, markers, and towels efficiently, the teacher keeps the whiteboards under desks and the markers and towels in a central location. Students line up down one aisle to pick up the materials, then return to their seats down another aisle. This organized process prevents chaos and unnecessary contact when distributing and collecting the mini-whiteboard materials.

In my class, we often do formative assessments in which we utilize whiteboards and expo
markers. Because of this, I had to come up with a way for my students to get their materials quickly and efficiently. I tried a few different solutions, but the one that has worked the best is keeping the whiteboards under the desks and the towels and makers in a central location by my desk. When working with whiteboards I have students form a line through one aisle where they grab the maker and towel, then proceed out another aisle back to their assigned seat. This way it is not chaos when they go to get their materials and they are not running into each other unnecessarily. At the end of use they do the same process to return their materials.
