THE DELIVERANCE

Guy 1 subtitutes Guy 2 to act as a possessed man during a deliverance section. Things didn’t go as
planned as Guy 2 couldn’t take it any longer from the pastor.

SCENE 1

EXT. – CORRIDOR – DAY

CAST; Guy 1, Guy 2

Guy 2 and Guy 1 are seated as Guy 1 gives Guy 2 the opportunity to represent him in Church as a
possessed man, to get money. Guy 2 agrees

Guy 1

This one you dey always disturb me for money I get job for you o

(Excited)

Aah, you mean am? Na im you dey talk with small voice. Tell me something guy, I dey ready to do
anything for money like this.

Guy 1

(He checks around to ascertain nobody is listening then smiles)

So e get one new and fake pastor way hire me to do like say demon possess me and he talk say he go
pay me 10k for am. You know as e dey be na, make you just agree to anything and prophecy way he talk
so viewers go think say he be man of God.

Guy 2

Aaaargh! See business na, na im you dey talk small? Wetin you want make I do like aside being
possessed (Demonstrates) I fit form crippled and imbecile self for that kind money, to dey possessed na
small thing

(Laughs as Guy 2 demonstrates)

Guy 2 comes near as Guy 1 whispers to him, He pays apt attention

EXT. – ROAD SIDE – DAY

 CAST: Guy 2, PASTOR, CAMERA MAN and One member

PROPS: Cane, Camera

Guy 2 is passing the street while the Pastor approached him, as a stranger for the prophecy and
deliverance on life camera so people will believe

PASTOR

(Looking at the Camera while scanning the street)

Halleluiyah somebody!

PASTOR

Today is our open street prophecy and deliverance session. God will perform wonders in our midst
today! Are you ready!

CONGREGATION
Yes o
CAMERA Focus on Pastor and Guy 2 as he walks by.
PASTOR
There is a stranger here that is possessed by a demon! (Acts as if he is in the spirit)He is coming now
(He, with the member goes to Guy 2)
PASTOR
Young man, You don’t know me from anywhere but I sense you are possessed
Guy 2

PASTOR
Young man let me prophesy to you. I see in the spirit, you are born dark! You are a Nigerian
(Member Cheering in praise)
Guy 2
(Unimpressed)

PASTOR
Your name is Guy 2 am I right?
Guy 2
(Fling surprise)

PASTOR
(To the camera)
Somebody say I prophesy!

PASTOR
Today you stubborn Demon of poverty that has possessed him since he was a baby! You will leave Guy 2
by fire by force in Jesus name,
Take it! (He nudge Guy 2 with his palm but he didn’t fall)
I say Take it! (Guy 2 resisted again even when the member falls)
You see! This demon is strong as I said, everyone here is falling under the anointing but it has proven
stubborn
Guy 2
I no prove stubborn oh, if na by fall, then no be only me the anointing no dey catch
PASTOR
So who else is did you possess here! Tell me let me cast them out.
Guy 2
(He Points at Camera man)

PASTOR
Hold it there! You demon of confusion. You cannot decide how God works! Member, hold him down.
(The member came and held him to kneel, he reluctantly obliged)
You think you are stubborn! But I will cast you out by all means
CAMERA focus as he gets a cane. Guy 2 shook his head to signal him not to flog him. The pastor shook
his head in disapproval. The signal continued but the pastor didn’t heed and gave him a heavy stroke.

Guy 2
(Screams)
Oluwa o!

PASTOR
Get out of him you spirit of poverty I command you
(He whips him again, Guy 2 was screaming in pain)
You must leave him in Jesus’ name
(Another whip, Guy 2 jolts up angry)
Guy 2
Abeg, I no do, I no dey possessed again!
PASTOR
The demon is trying to lie but brethren I will set Guy 2 free today

Guy 2
 I swear, if you flog me that thing again, I go change am for you.
(Makes a fist at member who shifts back in fear)
Guy 2 CONT’D
No be so dey dey do deliverance, no kill me say I dey possessed abeg.
PASTOR
(Laughs hysterically and suddenly paused and points at him)
You demon of deceit! You think you can talk your way through staying in this body of Guy 2! I will cast
you out today by fire by force, Lie down
(He demonstrates with his cane, that he should lie down for another whip)
Guy 2
(Snaps his fist)
Abeg no try am, calm down do this deliverance, no be fight.

PASTOR
Come Out! (He whips him)

Guy 2
(Heavily Slaps the pastor, he rotates 90 degrees and the cane immediately drops from his hand.)
You still want do strong deliverance?

PASTOR
(Tries to regain consciousness, an member supports him)
Believer don’t worry! The deliverance truly no be by force.
(He kneels down in a slow tune)
