EQUIPMENTS FOR SANDWICH MAKING

1. GRILLS / GRIDDLES- these are flat heated surfaces on which food is cooked directly.
2. OVENS - these are sealed appliances that use hot air or infrared radiation to heat food. It is used for
baking cakes, cookies, breads and pastries.
3. MICROWAVE OVENS. Microwave radiation is produced by special tubes, which heats the food.
4. SALAMANDERS- broiler for browning or glazing the tops of sandwiches in a small size.
5. BREAD TOASTER- a toaster is a small electric kitchen appliance that is used to toast a variety of
bread items.
6. SLICER- the foods are sliced more thinly and uniformly with this machine.
7. CHILLERS- a machine used for chilling sandwiches and other food items.
8. FREEZER- it's used to keep foods fresh for longer periods of time and to store frozen foods.
9. REFRIGERATOR- a thermally insulated container for storing food at a temperature lower than the
room's temperature.
