SINGULAR AND PLURAL NOUNS

These are formulas for how to use the plural form of noun.
A. For the plural form of most nouns, simply add ’-s’
Example :
Bottle Bottles
Cup Cups
Pencil Pencils
Desk Desks

B. For nouns that end in ch, X, S, add ‘ –es ’

Box Boxes
Watch Watches
Class Classes

C. For Nouns ending in F or fe, f to v add ‘ –es ‘

Wolf Wolves

Leaf Leaves
Life Lives

D. Some nouns are exclusive and have different plural forms

Mouse Mice

E. Nouns ending in ‘Y’ procede by a consonant, the plural is formed by Changing ‘Y’ to ‘I’
and adding ‘-es’

F. Nounsending in ‘o’ preceded by consonant, the plural is made by adding ‘-es’

G. Few nouns have the same singular and plural forms
