Wide shot of Matthew Strachey from behind, he’s sitting on the

computer with the lights off, the brightness from the screen
is the main source of light. Sound of typing. Close up shot of
the monitor, Matthew is looking on Instagram at pictures of
friends hanging out. He receives a direct message, you can see
messages from concerned family members and friends before he
clicks on the chat.
Narrator:
The demands and social pressure of school life can

affect young peoples mental health, especially for
those who are effected by a mental health disorder,
those who are afflicted with such statistically
missing more school then those that don’t.
Consequently this leads to social rejects, the
forgotten any that don’t fit within the specific
cast set for within social groups in their age
group, a hierarchy of popularity that discriminates
against those that lack strong social presence. This
sort of rejection causes loneliness. depravity of
companionship leads to desperate desire of it this
circle of events often ends in depression, as humans
we scrutinise those who are proclaimed “attention
seekers” when attention from other humans is an
essential for the lowest bar of possessing a
positive mental state.

The camera follows Matthew walking upstairs, he goes into the

bathroom but the camera takes a route to the computer, gets a
instagram notification and Matthew shows if head through the
door frame.

INT: MATTHEWS BEDROOM – NIGHT

Matthew (Narrator):
Depravity of companionship leads to desperate desire
of it, to manipulate and to be manipulated at first
glance is a malicious and deceitful act but the
motivation of the manipulator is to control and
possess ownership over their victim, in some cases
this can lead to envy of the chosen targets of these
acts of obsession thus the conductors and carpenters
that construct these acts of psychological torture
are romanticised, this in turn causes
characteristics of text book manipulators such as
deranged obsession mistakenly seen as
interchangeable with compassionate behaviour, as
corrupt as this construed form of affection is, to
want and to be wanted is another essential to a
positive mental state.

This test edit was to experiment with the CCTV effect that I
later used in my film.
I started off by filming the raw footage, I then took a

greenscreen cctv effect from online, link below

I then used the ultra key effect in premiere pro to make the
green transparent after overlaying the green screen footage
over the original.
After this I made the whole video black and white to fit the
cctv camera effect.

AUDITIONS

Analysis:
Charlie is Confident and has a strong social presence, it’s my
belief that these aspects would make him easy to work with
alongside his lack of shame, this would allow him to easily
follow instruction furthermore he lives local to the filming
location allowing for easy transportation. Unfortunately
Charlies root personality clashes with the Character and his
body language would struggle to appear as someone with

social anxiety.

Analysis:
Roan Cox is a good fit for the character of Matthew Strechay
who is meant to come off as nervous and a lack of social skills
and presence, the reason he didn’t get the role is due to the
lack of acting ability displayed at the end of the audition this
alongside him living far away from the filming location with
no viable transportation.
Name: George Foxen

Age: 18
Sex: Male
Analysis:
George Foxen has a lot of experience in acting in student
films, making appearances in some of my previous ones
alongside music videos of other students, from this I can
assume he’s experienced in this area and I know from past
projects we work well together. Comparing him to the
character of Matthew Strachey his is a good fit this combined
with him living local to the filming locations and a flexible
schedule this makes George the most viable option.
