A. GDP is a perfect measure of well-being

Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

I do not agree

can the GDP per capita figure really describe people's welfare?

If we consider our daily intuition, it seems that the GDP per capita figure does not really describe the
state of the people's welfare. For example, if it is said that the average income per person/family in
Indonesia is IDR 4.9 million per month (GDP), in fact there are many people whose income is far below
that figure. For example, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) still records that more than 24 million
Indonesian citizens are below the poverty line (earning less than IDR 401,220 a month). Therefore, GDP
cannot be used to measure people's welfare absolutely.
