My Top 10 Movies
Create a top 10 list of your favorite movies of all time on your module 3 page.

Summary: Sophie has an uneventful life at her late father's hat shop, but all that changes when she
befriends wizard Howl, who lives in a magical flying castle. However, the evil Witch of Waste takes
issue with their budding relationship and casts a spell on young Sophie, which ages her prematurely.
Now Howl must use all his magical talents to battle the jealous hag and return Sophie to her former
youth and beauty.
Why is it in your top ten? - I love the romance between howl and sophie, believe it or not, its really
magical and I love the world building. It may be confusing at first, but after a few watches it will make
sense.
2) Ponyo
Genre: Anime, Comedy, Adventure, Children’s Film, Animated Cartoon, Fantasy, Drama, Animation
Summary: During a forbidden excursion to see the surface world, a goldfish princess encounters a
human boy named Sosuke, who gives her the name Ponyo. Ponyo longs to become human, and as
her friendship with Sosuke grows, she becomes more humanlike. Ponyo's father brings her back to
their ocean kingdom, but so strong is Ponyo's wish to live on the surface that she breaks free, and in
the process, spills a collection of magical elixirs that endanger Sosuke's village.
Why is it in your top ten? - The opening scenes are absolutely beautful, the animaters that wroked on
studio ghibli films pay great attention to detail, and the colours are very pretty. Plus the plot of the
movie is very interesting, its like “the little mermaid”
3) Willies Wonderland

Summary: When his car breaks down, a quiet loner agrees to clean an abandoned family fun center
in exchange for repairs. He soon finds himself waging war against possessed animatronic mascots
while trapped inside Willy's Wonderland.
Why is it in your top ten? - I like spin offs of Five Nights At Freddy’s (the games) but it really depends on
how they execute it, and if they add their own plot-twists or not. Other than that I really like how
Nicholas Cage did not even have a line the entire movie whatsoever.
4) Bubble
Cast:
Summary: Gravity-defying bubbles rain down, cutting off Tokyo from the rest of the world. The city
skyline becomes a playground for young people competing in parkour team battles. Hibiki plummets
into the sea but is saved by a girl with mysterious powers.
Why is it in your top ten? - It is an amazing movie with wonderful colours and a creative plot, I love the
character designs and the attention to details. I think it’s a good watch if you are bored, this movie also
takes inspiration from the little mermaid.
5) When Marnie Was There

Summary: Due to 12 y.o. Anna's asthma, she's sent to stay with relatives of her guardian
in the Japanese countryside. She likes to be alone, sketching. She befriends Marnie.

Why is it in your top ten? - I related to the main character, on how she liked to be alone most of the time
and draw, though throughout the end of the movie she gains new friends. Like me :D
6) Zombieland
Cast: Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee, Columbus' trusted partner. He despises zombies,
and enjoys killing and torturing them.
Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus, a young man who lived by himself in a beat-up apartment
before becoming one of the few survivors of the zombie apocalypse. He lives by a strict
set of rules to stay alive. The character is also the narrator of the film.
Emma Stone as Wichita, Little Rock's older sister and Columbus's love interest. She is
one of the few survivors of the zombie apocalypse, and overly protective of her little
sister. Her real name is Krista.
Abigail Breslin as Little Rock, Wichita's 12-year-old sister. She is sweet, but not that
innocent and has had to grow up very quickly because of the apocalypse.
Bill Murray as a fictionalized version of himself, still living in his Los Angeles home and
regularly disguising himself as a zombie to travel around the area.
Amber Heard as 406, Columbus's ill-fated neighbor who becomes the first zombie he
kills.[25]

Summary: After a virus turns most people into zombies, the world's surviving humans remain
locked in an ongoing battle against the hungry undead. Four survivors -- Tallahassee (Woody
Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock
(Abigail Breslin) -- abide by a list of survival rules and zombie-killing strategies as they make
their way toward a rumored safe haven in Los Angeles.

Why is it in your top ten? - I love the humor in this movie and the character development throughout
the movie, plus that once scene with tallahassee in the prize stand at the amusement park is my favorite
part of the whole movie.
Why is it in your top ten? - It has queer representation and the special effects are awesome, in my
opinion anyway.
8) Princess Mononoke
Cast: Yōji Matsuda voices Prince Ashitaka (アシタカ), the last Ainu prince of the Emishi tribe whose
traveling companion is Yakul (ヤックル, Yakkuru), a red elk (アカシシ, Akashishi), a fictional species
of elk that Miyazaki created for the film. Novelist Ali Shaw has described Yakul as being more similar
to a red Lechwe than an elk.[3]
Yuriko Ishida voices San (サン), a young woman who was raised by the wolves and feels hatred for
humans, but eventually comes to care for Ashitaka. In the English version, San is voiced by Claire
Danes.[citation needed]
o Ishida also voices Kaya (カヤ), Ashitaka's bride-elect who breaks the rules of the village to
gift him her dagger to remember her by.[6] Tara Strong provides her voice in the English
version, where she is referred to as his younger sister due to the translation.
Yūko Tanaka provides the voice of Lady Eboshi (エボシ御前, Eboshi Gozen), the ruler of Irontown
who continually clears the forest. Miyazaki stated that Eboshi was supposed to have a traumatic
past, although it is not specifically mentioned in the film.[4]
Kaoru Kobayashi provides the voice of Jiko-bō (ジコ坊, called "Jigo" in the English version), a monk
and mercenary who befriends Ashitaka on his journey to the west.
Masahiko Nishimura voices Kohroku (甲六, Kōroku), an ox driver; John DeMita voices Kohroku in the
English version.
Tsunehiko Kamijō provides the voice of Gonza (ゴンザ), Eboshi's short-tempered but loyal
bodyguard; he is voiced by John DiMaggio in the English version.[citation needed]
Akihiro Miwa voices Moro (モロの君, Moro no Kimi), a giant wolf god and San's adopted mother;
Gillian Anderson provides her voice in the English version.[10]
Mitsuko Mori provides the voice of Hii-sama (ヒイ様), the wise woman of Ashitaka's village. In the
English version, Hii-sama is voiced by Debi Derryberry.[citation needed]
Hisaya Morishige provides the voice of Okkoto-nushi (乙事主, called "Okkoto" in the English version),
a blind boar god. In the English version, Okkoto is voiced by Keith David, who also voices the narrator
in the film's opening sequence.[citation needed]

Summary: In the 14th century, the harmony that humans, animals and gods have enjoyed begins to
crumble. The protagonist, young Ashitaka - infected by an animal attack, seeks a cure from the deer-
like god Shishigami. In his travels, he sees humans ravaging the earth, bringing down the wrath of
wolf god Moro and his human companion Princess Mononoke. His attempts to broker peace
between her and the humans brings only conflict.
Why is it in your top ten? - I love the storyline and the amazing woodland scenery.
Summary: Matilda lives with her brother and parents, who are unappreciative of her. She utilises her
telekinetic abilities to settle the score after her principal brutally tortures her with the help of her kind-
hearted teacher.

Why is it in your top ten? - Most of the songs in this movie are amazing, and I love how matilda’s
storyline was actually Miss Honey’s backstory. The acting was lovely and I love how the characters
outfits were matched the chracters themselves.

Summary: In this anime feature, 13-year-old Kiki moves to a seaside town with her talking cat, Jiji, to
spend a year alone, in accordance with her village's tradition for witches in training. After learning to
control her broomstick, Kiki sets up a flying courier service and soon becomes a fixture in the
community. But when the insecure young witch begins questioning herself and loses her magic
abilities, she must overcome her self-doubt to get her powers back.
Why is it in your top ten? - I love the plot and I love how kiki goes into a realistic burn out, which is why
she lost her powers in the first place, I also love Ursula, I strive to be her, aka live in a cabin in the woods
and draw all day (jk I know that isnt good but still)
