About the Project REC Silicon is a US based subsidiary of REC Group in Norway and its products are solar grade
silicon, electronic grade silicon and silane gas. The overall goal for REC Silicon is to update its
financial and operational systems to accommodate expected future growth and expansion. The
current legacy systems are adequate for today’s operations but will not support future growth
decision making. This has forced the REC Silicon to move forward with implementing ERP and
EPM Models. The purpose of implementing Business Objects, Data service and EPM is to do best
decision making in their produce improvement and growth.

About the Project The project involves creation of a business intelligence application for clinical trial operations and
management. This application makes use of Business Objects Dashboard Manager and reporting
solution. The application named as MERLIN (Medical Enterprise Reporting Logistical and
Intelligence Network. ) provides users with reports, dashboards, and ad-hoc capabilities, with data
sourced from key clinical trial source systems within Wyeth. The reports combine and aggregate
data across these systems to provide integrated views of clinical study activities and related
operational data.. The application provides Operational Dashboard, Predefined Reports, Ad-hoc
Analysis, Executive Dashboard, Admin Utility and User Management.

reporting tool provides detailed reports for all kinds of data transactions done which includes
periodical sales, salary management of employees, tracking details of customers, forecasting growth
areas etc. The project involves designing of universe and creating reports.

spread over 8 state areas. Each branch has full complement of departments, including grocery, frozen
foods, floral, health, beauty aids etc, each branch has roughly 80,000 products.The scope of this
system is to maintain present and historic data of all products and store details of all 80 branches
based on promotion or no promotion. The headquarters in turn analyse and take decision on the
requirements of the reach branch and then places a order to the factory that dispatches the product to
the branches.
