DIFFERENCES

Rob: The action of stealing can only be defined from the means used to
appropriate the object of others. With this verb, you can imagine someone, using a
gun to threaten and take money, or anything of value. Example: She was robbed in
the street yesterday. They took all her money.

Theft Robbery is an offence consisting of seizing the property or rights of others


through the use of force or intimidation.

Kidnap: Kidnapping refers to a person being taken. The girl was kidnapped.

Abduct: Abduction refers to, holding someone against their will, usually in order to
get a ransom.

Hijack: Hijacking is when someone takes control of an object, possibly with people
on board. The bus was hijacked.

Burgle: This verb is used to refer to the robberies of a house or premises, when the
thief empties everything. Example: They have been burgled many times.

Shoplift: This word is quite specific and does not have an equivalent in Spanish. As
the word indicates "to lift in a store", it applies to the action of stealing in stores,
generally, pretending to be a customer. Example: Shoplifting stopped when they
put a security guard in the supermarket

Pickpocket: It is the person who is dedicated to stealing wallets. Example: The


pickpocket was at the bus station waiting for his victims.

Mug: Mug is a large cup that has become very fashionable, more and more we see
them in television shows and movies.

Blackmail: It is the threat of public defamation or similar harm to obtain some


pecuniary or material advantage from someone or to compel him to act in a certain
way.

Smuggle: Exercising smuggling


Forge: Forge is a stove that is mainly used to forge metals. It is generally a brick or
stone structure, covered with grids, in which the fire is fanned by passing a
horizontal air current by means of a manual or mechanical bellows.
