STAIRCASE GOING TO

DESCRIPTION AND TYPE

This is a type of hazard that can cause falls for the people living in this
house. One factor that can cause fall is that it has no handrail, there is no
proper support to maintain balance while going up and down the stairs. It
also has no proper barrier from the floor to the stairs, making the people be
at risk for fall. As the type of stair is semi-spiral, it makes its step to not be
spacious and has a lesser area to step on to. This is a type of physical
hazard as it can cause falls and harm a person.

POSSIBLE MANAGEMENT

Install a handrail for the people to have support while going up and down
the stairs.
Put up a safer barrier from the floor to the stairs to prevent falls.
Remove unnecessary things on the floor and stairs that might be
stepped onto and cause people to slip.
Supervise children carefully if children are present.

GRILLS

DESCRIPTION AND TYPE

This is also a type of physical hazard as it can cause fall for the people
living in this house specially when they need to clean the walls of the house
outside. It can also make people at risk when they are watching events from
afar or when you just want to stay outside at look at the sky. This area is one
of the places where you may feel comfortable or relaxed but with the
absence of the grills, it can be a place of tragedy.

POSSIBLE MANAGEMENT
Temporarily restrict people to access this are of the house.
Put up some plants for it to somehow be a barrier and reminder that
there is not grills yet.
Clean the walls outside with special precaution like putting up rope on
your body just in case fall happens or asked someone to look after you
while cleaning.
Watch events from the inside of the house, avoid going to the terrace.
If suitable for the budget, install grills to be able to access the terrace
freely.
 UNACCESSIBLE AND
UNCERTAIN PLACEMENT
OF WATER TANK
DESCRIPTION AND TYPE
Another hazard that is found in our home is the placement of the water
tank. Though it is right to put it up in a higher place to allow the water to
properly flow, I think it has been placed too high. On of the hazard that I
have thought is when an earthquake happens, it might affect the whole
house as it can fall through the roof and ruin it, also it might collapse if the
metals or its support gets moldy or rusty. Also, another problem is that it
cannot be accessed, there is no way to go through that part, you have to
use a separate ladder to do access that part and when something happens
with the tank - like it overflow or something, you cannot go there right away
and fix it, it will cause you huge amount of time and expenses.

POSSIBLE MANAGEMENT
Since the solution for this is not simple, it will really require time, effort, and
finances to do so, like:
Relocating the tank to a more accessible area. But if not possible...
Consider installing a ladder to access the water tank so that it will be
always checked and assessed to attend its needs to maintain sturdiness
and safety.
