Used Aircraft Components Removed From A Serviceable Aircraft.

Serviceable aircraft components removed from a Member State registered aircraft may be issued an EASA Form 1 by an appropriately
rated organisation subject to compliance with this subparagraph. The organisation should ensure that the component was removed from
the aircraft by an appropriately qualified person. The aircraft component may only be deemed serviceable if the last flight operation
with the component fitted revealed no faults on that component/related system. The aircraft component should be inspected for
satisfactory condition including in particular damage, corrosion or leakage and compliance with any additional manufacturer's

The internationally recognised standard for the airworthiness of a civil aircraft is a Certificate of Airworthiness issued in accordance
with the Convention on International Civil Aviation, (ICAO Chicago Convention). An aircraft which cannot show compliance with the
standards required for the award of a Certificate of Airworthiness, but nevertheless can be considered airworthy (subject to
specified limitations), may be granted a Permit to Fly.

maintenance program which we discuss at the end of these notes, we will first deal with
smaller aircraft requirements.

limited engine parts are all controlled by hard time. Frequently, mechanical linkages
and actuators, hydraulic pumps and motors, electric motors and generators, and
similar items subject to a definite wear-out cycle will also be identified as hard time.
For items having clearly defined wear-out periods, hard time is probably the most
