Sub: - KNRUHS – Exams – Conduct of Medical PG Degree (MD/MS) Regular


examinations for 2020-21 batch in the month of JUNE, 2023 – Issue of
Notification - Reg.
Ref: - Orders of the Vice – Chancellor, Dated: 27.02.2023

The Notification is issued for registration of candidates to appear


for PG Degree (MD/MS) Regular theory Examinations commencing from
01.06.2023.

Eligibility to appear for P.G DEGREE (MD/MS) Regular Examinations, JUNE 2023:
➢ The PG Degree students who are admitted in to medical colleges of Telangana State
and whose admissions are approved by the KNRUHS during the academic year 2020-
21 and who have completed three years of study period (36 months) including period
of examinations are eligible to appear for the ensuing examination. The principal
concerned should submit study period completion certificate of the students.
➢ The students who have failed in the Previously held exams are also eligible to appear
for these exams.

➢ Approval of dissertation work is an essential precondition for a candidate to appear


in the University examination. The Candidates whose dissertations were already
approved but failed the previous examination need not submit the dissertation again.

➢ As per National Medical Commission (Medical Council of India) Regulations


(Amended up to June, 2017) the following sub –clause is added after clause 13.8(c)
in terms of Gazette Notification dated. 09.12.2009 and the same is as under:
□ “A postgraduate student of a postgraduate degree course in broad specialties/Super
Specialties would be required to present one poster presentation, to read one paper
at a national/state conference and to present one research paper which should be
published/accepted for publication/sent for publication during the period of his
postgraduate studies so as to make him eligible to appear at the postgraduate
degree examinations.
”In view of the COVID 19 pandemic, vide Public Notice No. NMC-
23(1)(10A)/2021-Med./PG, dated: 18.01.2023 the Postgraduate Medical Education
Board has decided to relax the said portion of the regulation and allow the
postgraduate students of batch 2020-21 only, in board specialties /Super specialties
to be eligible to appear for their Postgraduate degree examinations even if they
have not made a poster presentation, read a paper at a conference or submitted a
research paper at a conference or submitted a research paper for publication.
➢ The students should put in academic year wise compulsory attendance of 80%
(EIGHTY PERCENT) i.e., 292(Two Hundred and Ninety Two) working days in
each year
➢ The study period of those candidates who availed maternity leave up to 120 days
(4 months) will be extended to the extent of maternity leave availed. They will be
eligible to appear for the examination only after completion of three years of study
period (duration of course) as per National Medical Commission (Medical Council
of India) Regulations.
➢ The study period duration of course of the candidates is extendable in cases of
availed of Medical Leave / Maternity Leave / Any Other Leave / Absence beyond
30 days in each year.
➢ Cutoff date for calculation of Attendance is up to 10.05.2023.
➢ The uploading of the Attendance of the candidates is from 11.05.2023 to
13.05.2023.
➢ The confirmation date for Attendance of your college students is on 16.05.2023. ANY
CORRECTION AFTER THE CONFORMATION ARE NOT ENTERTAINED

➢ Digital Valuation and Providing only single answer booklet without


additional answer booklet
➢ The University is a Digital campus and implementing digital valuation for allcourses.
For P.G. Degree Course a single answer booklet with candidate specific bar code on
each page will be issued to the candidates appearing for examinations and no
additional answer book will be issued to the candidates. The candidates should
answer all the questions in the single answer booklet only.
➢ Further it is to inform you that the Digital (ONLINE) Valuation will be done by Four
examiners as per orders of the Hon’ble High Court for the State Telangana State at
Hyderabad. The average of four valuations will be taken for finalizing the results.
➢ Hence, the same may be circulated to the students and staff and also display the same
on the notice boards of colleges & hospitals concerned.

➢ As per Lr.No.MCI – 23(1)/2014/Med./157716, Dt: 11.04.2015, the National Medical


Commission (Medical Council of India) has informed the following:
“The Academic Committee noted that the students are required to pass theory and
practical examinations separately in terms of the governing provisions pertaining to
the scheme of examination in the PG Regulations and recommended that an examinee
should obtain minimum 40% marks in each theory paper and not less than 50%
marks cumulatively in all the four papers for Degree examinations to be cleared
“passed’’ at the said degree examination as the case may be. Upon approval from
the competent authorities of the Council the same may be notified for the information
of all concerned.”
Hence, in view of the above NMC (MCI) Regulations, the minimum pass
marks in theory is as follows:
a) 40% marks in each paper separately i.e., 40/100 (Forty out of Hundred)
b) 50% marks cumulatively in all the four papers for Degree exam i.e., 200/400.
(Two hundred out of four hundred)
The above information may be circulated to all the students and staff
concerned, immediately.
