Okay that’s good to hear that all of you are okay.

But before we start our lesson for today, let’s have first a Yes sir

BASIC SERVING SKILLS IN BADMINTON

First is the forehand grip please read. Your racket face should be perpendicular to the floor.

Place your playing hand on the handle as if you are

between your thumb and your index finger. The racket
handle should rest loosely in your fingers for greater

Next is the backhand grip please read. Hold the racket as you would on a forehand grip. Turn Low serve
the racket counter-clockwise so that the V shape moves
leftwards. Place your thumb against the back bevel of
the handle for greater leverage and power. The racket (video pres

Moving on to the backhand and forehand serve.

Okay since there is no question get ready because each
of you will perform the basic serving skills.

Please all stand and group yourselves into two groups,


form two rows and have your racket and shuttles. What
you will be doing is perform the low serve using the
backhand serve and high serve using the forehand
serve. The group one will perform the back hand serve
and the group two will do the forehand.
Are you all set class? Yes Sir
Okay you can perform now. The students performed the said activity.

So class, remember that in badminton we have the
basic serving skills which are the back hand serve and
the forehand serve.

The back hand serve is a Serve hit with Backhand


technique, and the forehand serve is hit also with
forehand technique.

low serve.
