CONCEPT: VIBRANCE

PHOTOGRID 1:
Tagline: DYNAMIC AND INVIGORATING
❖ Zigzag Line used as the main element.

❖ Zigzag incorporated from Thai art, architecture, or textiles as a decorative or symbolic


element. For example, traditional Thai textiles often feature intricate geometric patterns,
including zigzag lines, that are created using a technique called "mudmee" weaving.

❖ The zigzag line become narrower as moving further clearly shows the depth of the line.

1,2,7 – modern architecture found in Thailand such as “The Steel Krung Thon Bridge” & “Bang
Sue Grand Station” iconic of Thailand Country.
3 – shows the Thai style interior design with water element. Water elements have deep meant
which means Flows and Changes [vibrance - movement], shows the important of accepting
and adapting the difficulties in Thai Culture.
4 – abundance of overhead wire in Thai as a part of urban landscape that shaped the culture
of Thai city in a special way.
6 – intricate carvings and ornamental details on roof that reflect the country's rich cultural
heritage and bring lively and excitement to the visitor.
8 – hawking culture in the railway market shows vibrance and energy of the market, creating
an exciting and dynamic atmosphere that attracts tourists and locals alike which reflects the
entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to quality and freshness that is a hallmark of Thai culture.
5,9 – both the stair shows social vibrance, action of climbing steps metaphor for overcoming
obstacles and challenges, and for achieving personal and social success and also shows respect
to the hierarchy level in Thailand.
CONCEPT: VIBRANCE
The zigzag line evokes a dynamic and high energy characteristic and convey a feeling of
movement and excitement which represent the busy lifestyle in Bangkok city. Sharpness end
[convey the strength]. As an overview, the concept of vibrance is deeply ingrained in Thai
culture, particularly in its architecture, community life, and spiritual and philosophical
traditions.
The intricate designs found in Thai traditional roof structures, staircase, and urban
environments create an atmosphere that is aesthetically pleasing, intellectually stimulating,
and spiritually uplifting. The culture emphasizes the importance of personal and social
growth, spiritual enlightenment, and social progress which shows in many stair steps found
throughout Thailand's urban areas, which serve as a metaphor for life's journey and the effort
required to achieve personal and social success.
Overall, the concept of vibrance is woven into the fabric of Thai culture, representing the
richness and complexity of life, the importance of community and social connection, and the
pursuit of personal and social progress as well as the respect to the cultural heritage and
respect to hierarchy level in Thailand where Thai people are very respect to their King and
other elderly.

❖ Spiral [Curve and following Line] used as the main element.
❖ Strong relationship with Thai culture. In Thai art and architecture, the spiral is often used
as a decorative motif, particularly in traditional designs found in Thai’s temples and
palaces.

❖ Movement and energy: The spiral shape inherently suggests movement and energy, as it
implies a sense of forward motion or growth. This sense of movement and energy can be
seen as a representation of vibrance, which is often associated with a lively, dynamic, and
energized state.

❖ Spiral shape also symbolised transformation and growth, which are both associated with
vibrance. In Thai culture, the spiral shape is often associated with the Buddhist concept of
rebirth and renewal, which can be seen as a form of transformation and growth. This
symbolism can further support the connection between the spiral shape and the concept
of vibrance.

1,9 – Buddha statue in Thailand can be differentiate with other Buddha in other country
especially China. Thai’s Buddha statues are often depicted with a serene expression and a
slight smile, with their hands in a specific position known as the "Bhumisparsha Mudra,"
which represents the moment when Buddha attained enlightenment.
2,3 – Traditional temple roof in Thailand have multi-tiered structure, with each tier featuring
a curved roof compared to China traditional roof is features a sloping roof with upturned
corners, known as the "hip-and-gable" style
4,6 – Wat in Ayutthaya used the local materials such as bricks, stone and stucco as one of the
landmark in Thailand.
5 – The walkway in Chulalongkorn Universities as the deepest and focal point of the photo.
7 – Train is a popular and important mode of transportation in Thailand. Train routes in
Thailand offer scenic views of the country's natural beauty which can be seen as vibrant and
alive, particularly when viewed from the perspective of a moving train.
8 – Stone Stairs beside lake in Chulalongkorn Universities linked to the concept of flow, which
is another important aspect of vibrance. In Thai culture, the idea of flow is often associated

with water and natural landscapes, and stepping stones beside a lake could be seen as a way

It is clear that the spiral element has a strong connection to the concept of vibrance in Thai
culture. The spiral can be found in Thai architecture, art, and nature, and is often associated
with movement, energy, and vitality. For example, the spiral shape can be seen in the design
of traditional Thai temples and other buildings to create a sense of upward movement and
to draw the eye upwards towards the heavens. In addition to its use in architecture and art,
the spiral can also be found in the natural world, where it is often associated with the
movement of water and the flow of energy. Stone stairs beside a lake could be seen as a way
to experience and connect with the natural flow of the environment, which is an important
aspect of vibrance in Thai culture.

the concept of vibrance, and its presence in various aspects of Thai culture helps to reinforce
