Introduction
This three-unit course is a comprehensive study of business policy and strategy at
the business, functional, corporate and international levels of the firm that is
intended to enhance an organization's competitive edge. It integrates the roles of
organizational policies, structures & frameworks, cultures, leadership, control,
ethical principles and the macro-environment in the creation and realization of a
firm's vision. It is designed to explore an organization’s vision, mission, examine
principles, techniques and models of organizational and environmental analysis,
discuss the theory and practice of strategy formulation and implementation such
as corporate governance and business ethics for the development of effective
strategic leadership. The center of attention is the firm – the industry and the
competitive environment in which it operates, its long-term direction and strategy,
