THIRD PERSON RULES

RULE 1: If the verb ends in s, sh, ch, or x, add es to the verb / Si el verbo termina en s, sh, ch o x, añade es
al verbo.
pass – passes
wash – washes
watch – watches
fix – fixes

RULE 2 – SPECIAL VERBS:


do – does
go – goes
have – has

RULE 3: If the verb ends in y, delete the y and add ies / Si el verbo termina en y, elimine la y y añada ies.
study – studies
worry – worries
try – tries
fly – flies

RULE 4: If the verb ends in ay, ey, oy, uy, just add s / Si el verbo termina en ay, ey, oy, uy, solo añade s.
enjoy – enjoys
stay – stays
buy – buys
SIMPLE PRESENT
POSITIVE:
I wash my car on Saturdays.
S+ VERB (s/es in third person) + COMP.

NEGATIVE:
She does not accept my decision.
S+ AUX (DO NOT-DON’T / DOES NOT-DOESN’T) + VERB + COMP.

QUESTION:
Does she have a book?
AUX (DO / DOES) +S + VERB + COMP?
