“A Travel Guide”

According to the text, answer the following questions.

a. What are some recommendations to visit Bangkok? Use have to/ must/mustn't in your answer.

R/ Some recommendations for visiting Bangkok are to explore the temples and historical sites, such

as Wat Pho temple and the Grand Palace, and to visit the Chatuchak street market. It is also

recommended to try the Thai street food, which is among the best in the world, but one should be

careful with stalls that appear unhygienic. It should be noted that one should not speak ill of the king

or the royal family in Thailand, as it can be considered a serious offense.

b. What is the fastest way to get around in Bangkok?

R/ The fastest way to get around Bangkok is to take the express river taxi or the long-tail boat along

the Chao Phraya River and canals to explore the temples and historical sites, and to use the Skytrain

for the modern part of the city, such as the shopping centers and nightlife of Sukhumvit.

c. Where can you find the best Chinese and Thai restaurants and food stands in Bangkok?

R/ The best Chinese and Thai restaurants and food stalls can be found in Chinatown - Yaowarat Street

- where there are many excellent restaurants and food stalls to choose from.

d. Why is water one of the best ways to move around Thailand?

R/ Water is one of the best ways to get around Thailand because it is a convenient and fast way to

explore the main tourist sites. The author says you can eat anywhere because Thai street food is

delicious and available everywhere, from small food stalls on the street to fancy restaurants. However,

one should be careful with food stalls that appear unhygienic.

e. Why does the author say you can eat everywhere?

R/ If something is added to a destination guide like this, it is important to consider safety and health,

such as wearing sunscreen and mosquito repellent, and knowing local laws and customs to avoid

problems. It is also advisable to research the places you want to visit and plan ahead to maximize your

time at each destination.

f. What would you add to a guide destination like this? Mention 2 different items that you

consider necessary to keep in mind.

What to drink Cocktail made with local rum, The typical drink of the island is a cocktail made

pineapple juice - piña colada with local rum and pineapple juice, which is

served in most bars and restaurants.

Transportatio Car rentals The only way to get to Shadow Island is by boat

n from a nearby city on the mainland. Once on the

island, you can walk or rent a car to get around.

Language Spanish, English The main language on the island is Spanish,

although many local residents also speak English.

are accepted in most establishments.
