METHODOLOGY
Research Site

Barangay Balicuatro is one the smallest barangay in Lavezares, Norther Samar.

Historically, the Balicuatro was formerly names as Miolbiol. Its population as determined by the

2020 Census was 334. The represented 1.14% of the total population of Lavezares. The major

livelihood of the residents is farming and fishing. The barangay Balicuatro is about 7 kilometers

from the Poblacion which can be reached via motorcycle(a.k.a habal – habal).

Barangay Balicuatro was chosen as the locale because this study aims to identify the

proper waste disposal of the residents and the ways of segregation.

Research Design

This study will use survey research design because the researchers will know on how

the residents dispose the waste properly.

Sampling

The sampling method to be use in this study is purposive sampling. Selected residents of

Barangay Balicuatro will represent the population of the study.

Respondents

There are 334 residents who are officially resides in Barangay Balicuatro which where

the selected residents will be the respondents of the study.

Ethical Considerations

A consent will be asked from selected residents before the day of conducting the survey.

The respondents will be informed of the research objectives, its scope and limitation.

Furthermore, the respondents will be informed their right to decline from participating.

Research Instrument

A survey questionnaire will be use in gathering the needed data and information of

this study. This study utilized a standardized research instrument to examine the ways of

disposing waste . This will be comprised of two parts. The first section contains the profile of

residents in terms of their age, sex, economic status, and the lastly the educational attainment.

The second section is a checklist containing the ways of disposing waste properly.

Scoring and Interpretation

The result of the survey, will be using 5-point Likert scale survey.

Data Gathering Procedures

The data gathering will be conducted during the class hour where the researchers ask

permission to the teacher and give the survey questionnaire to the residents.

Statistical Data Analysis

Descriptive statistics will be used to determine the ways to dispose waste properly. For

quantitative data, correlation person or chi-square will be used.
