The first barrier which I have identified is prioritising the multiple tasks assigned to me. My
entrepreneurial experiences have enhanced my ability to multitask. Since running an EdTech
start-up involves many aspects, such as planning lessons, marketing and operations, to keep
a customer-centric approach, I have improved at balancing these aspects to give an efficient
user-experience. 

Secondly, while working as a business analyst at an e-commerce company, I have realized

the importance of focusing on the customer’s bespoke needs. Since I am not actively
involved in the sales vertical of my business, my interaction with prospective customers is
very limited. To my understanding, interacting with potential customers and understanding
their point of view can be very advantageous. To overcome this barrier, I have started
working on interacting with buyers and loyal customers to understand the nerve of the market
in a better manner.

Lastly, as an aspiring consultant, I lack a relevant and strong network of such professionals
which I believe is essential to the recipe for success, especially in this industry. Therefore, by
being a part of Imperial College, not only will I get an opportunity to celebrate diversity by
interacting with students from various cultures but also will be able to build a strong
network, academic and professional, which will increase my social capital thereby, putting
my aspirations within my grasp.

What skills do you need to develop to prepare for this career (<800 Characters)?
For a career in the consulting management domain, an impeccable problem solving acumen
and time management are essential, especially when working against the clock. The highly
intensive and rigorous program at Imperial College Business School will inculcate exactly
that.

Furthermore, effective communication skills play a key role in one’s professional journey.
Therefore, I aim to gain such skills by making the most out of my life in London and by
being involved in various student clubs, like the Social Impact & Responsible Business.
Overall, I am confident that ICL will provide me with an excellent opportunity to develop a
deep-rooted network of people from all over the world increasing my social capital which
will help me in my personal and professional life.
