METHOD STATEMENT:
PROJECT NAME: PRAGATI, MONDELEZ INTERNATIONAL
PURPOSE: The main objective of this method statement is to provide detailed, safe operating
procedure involved in unloading, shifting & installation of Store container, Unloading of railing MS
pipe, fixing of Railing and Hard barrication and Safety Park at mondelez, Malanpur.
The primary objective of our organization is to ensure effective control and elimination of accident
in all job sites, and to maintain a conductive environment and infrastructural facilities at workplace
with due consideration for occupational health and safety legislation.
An awareness of safety culture will be developed for building and maintaining an effective accident
prevention programmer by pertaining on the job safety training and following safe operating
procedure of all activities involved in this project, it is our firm belief that if the procedure and code
of practices are rigorously followed, we can reach our objective of achieving “ZERO ACCIDENT”,
Safety of work and accident prevention is the responsibility of every employee
SCOPE : This Method statement covers Unloading, shifting & installation of store & office
container, , Unloading of railing MS pipe, fixing of Railing and Hard barrication ,Safety Park in
accordance with the scope & specifications.

The Supervisor/Person-In-Charge of the work shall make himself known to all persons
directly involved in the works
He shall ensure that every person involved is competent to perform their task and is aware
of the work, the procedures to be followed and their responsibilities

EQUIPMENT HANDLING :
Assist and co-operate with the process of the assessment of risk
Assist the employer with the implementation of staff training, attend training sessions as
required and should apply the knowledge gained from training to their daily work
Report all accidents, injuries and near misses involving handling activities however trivial
Inform the employer if they are unable to undertake their normal manual handling duties
because of injury, illness, or any other condition
Not undertake any manual handling operation that they believe is beyond their capability
Report any unsafe systems of work to the employer
SAFETY PREPARATION :
Obtain site inductions from safety officer or authorized person.
Appropriate signage board must be displayed at work site.
Barricade the work area with caution tape.
Restrict the movement of people while work is in progress
Approved hot work permit should be ensured along with general work permit.
Fire watcher must be deployed & should be stand up at work site during hot work.
Fire watcher will be watching the hot work area for a hour after completion of hot work.
Appropriate & approved fire extinguisher & fire blanket should be ensured at work site.
Ensure hot work position area should be cover from at least three sided with pre - approved
non-combustible materials.
Below the hot work position temporary water boat system should be ensured for controlling
the spark, fumes & hot pieces.
Conduct fire fighting training & emergency evacuation training for all involved personal in
the task.
Mandatory PPEs should be ensured prior to start the activities like-Leather hand gloves,
leather apron, welding shield, welding goggles, safety shoes, safety helmet, & others
required PPEs are mandatory for the job.
Keep all tools and tackles required ready for manual shifting and erection.
Isolate the electrical connection if required.
Ensure safety standard for manual materials handling.

For the heavy weight equipment, the manual installation equipment, routing method for
taking the equipment from temporary place, the direction and sequence of installation etc.,
shall be made out before starting the works.
Ensure signage & working area barricading prior to start the job.
Ensure all required work Permit from authorized persons.
Required PPE’s to be used.
Shifted material shall be safely kept materials on the black pallet in the marked location.
Ensure the work environment is free from any obstacle & other hazard.
MONITORING :
Check equipment, including any personal protective equipment supplied is safe before use.
Co-operate with management agreements in respect of workplace inspection.
Standby supervisor or concern Engineer will be in place for the continue monitor of the safe
activity.
Follow any training information, guidelines and instruction given by top level persons for
checking inspection of safe practice.
Report any hazards or defects to the concern department immediately.
Fire watcher will watch the hot work area during the hot work activities & also he watch the
work site for one hour after completion of hot work.
STEP - 2 : INSPECTIONS:
o All documents of Farana/Hydra will be check by RBIPL safety team before entry in site
premises and collect all documents copy for record.
o Physical inspection should be done of Farana/ Hydra and all tools & tackles through IPSM
& MLDZ checklist.

o Job specific TBT must be conducted, and TBT ref no shall be mentioned in PTW.
Immediate hazards/risk must be mentioned in PTW
o Presence of competent & authorized personnel only for supervising the job is
mandatory. The safety officer shall make frequent inspection to ensure safe operation.
o Farana/ Hydra operator is must be licensed holder & well experienced.
o Site specific safety induction has to be conducted before starting any work.

o If required Grass fence must be remove for vehicle movement (at least 5mtr)
o Before starting unloading or shifting activity, underground utilities needs to be
remove or required Proper isolation.
o Prior to commencement of any activity a plan shall be developed based on the
drawing of office setup.
o If ramp required for vehicle movement ramp will have to be made before starting
the work

o After fixing of slings, container will be lifted and the trailer will be driven forward,
after which the container will be put down.
o Bringing the crane to the correct position and the container would lifted upto 1mtr
be from the ground after that tag line rope will be tied up, with the help of tag line
rope the container will be kept in the right position and the container will be
unloaded at his right place.

FENCING/BARRICADING WORK
o Provide suitable access for movement.
o Use only inspected hand tools.
o To ensure all person used mandatory PPE’s during Fencing work.
o Green net Fencing lines will be set out by a setting out engineer.
o Pegs (marked PFL) will be placed at all changes in direction of the fence line and at
appropriate centers for arcs in the fence line.
o The locations of gates will also be set out.
o Access to site office shall be approved with client access point.
o All works will be executed within the temporary fencing boundary by using green
net.
o All work should be done with proper supervision and communicated to team.

FABRICATION WORK FOR STORE, SAFETY PARK, TOILET, LABOUR REST ROOM ETC.
o PTW must be obtained before starting any work.
o Only inspected power tools shall be used in fabrication work
o Ensure housekeeping before start the fabrication work.
o Mandatory PPEs shall be used during the hot work activity
o Fire Extinguisher & Sand bucket must be available at location.
o Fire watcher shall be deployed
o Work should be done under proper supervision

FIRE PREVENTION & PROTECTION: The basic precautions for fire prevention in welding or cutting
work are:
The attached Hot Work Permit shall be filled out for each hot work job and kept available at
the job site.
Fire Hazards. If the object to be welded or cut cannot be moved, all movable fire hazards in
the vicinity should be taken to a safe place away from the area.
Guards/Fire Blankets. If the object to be welded or cut cannot be moved, and all the fire
hazards cannot be removed, then guards shall be used to confine the heat, sparks, and slag,
and to protect the immovable fire hazards.
A fire watch shall be continuously present during the entire hot work activity and 1 hour will
present after completion. In addition, the work area should be monitored every 30 minutes
for 4 hours after the welding and cutting are complete.
Restrictions. If the requirements listed above cannot be followed, welding and cutting should
not be performed.
Follow instruction, training and guidance given by the employer in respect of Safe System of
Work.
Ensure that, regulators are fitted, undertake frequent checks of hoses and connections and
that gas bottles are stored securely.
Shields, screens and barriers as detailed on the risk assessment, must be used in every
instance.
Co-operate with management arrangements for health and safety involving hot work.
Report to management any instances where you feel your health has been compromised by
the work being conducted.
Do not attempt to carry out hot work unless trained to do so.
HAZARD AND CONTROLS MEASURES: Welding Work Hazards and Control Measures
HAZARDS:
a) Eye irritation from welding arc
b) Burn injuries from welding arc or spatter
c) Fumes emitted from the welding process.
d) Fire during welding process.

CONTROL MEASURES:
a) Installing non-flammable screens and partitions
b) Warning signage to aware that welding is occurring.
c) Providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including filter shades for goggles, face
shields to protect the eyes from radiation, leather gloves and other protective apron to
cover exposed skin.
d) Reducing exposure to fumes and gases.
HAZARDS: The most common causes of injury to operators and nearby workers from angle
grinders are lacerations from attachments that break and become projectiles, and lacerations
from angle grinder kickbacks, Kickback happens when the angle grinder suddenly thrusts back
towards the operator because of it grabbing or jamming on the materials being worked on.

HAZARDS:
Working environment, e.g., uneven or slippery floor surfaces, high noise levels, very high or
low temperature, poor ventilation.
Machinery and equipment, e.g., entrapment and projectiles.
Fire.
Electricity.
Manual handling, e.g., pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, and restraining or repetitive tasks.
Overexertion and physical stress.
CONTROLS MEASURES:
Appropriated PPEs shall be given.
a) Follow the proper procedure.
b) Do the safe work practice.
c) Safety inspections and audits.
d) Job safety analyses or similar task evaluation processes.
e) Workers recognizing hazards while performing work.
f) Incident and near-miss reports.
g) Pre start discussions on the work to be done.
h) Monitoring, measuring and testing, e.g. noise monitoring, electrical testing, atmospheric
testing.
i) Turning off the machine that is causing a risk.
j) Positioning a person to prevent entry to a hazardous site.
a) Store the material in orderly manner.
Waste disposal: All generated scraps will be sent to Mondelez designated scrap yard after
completion of work (Daily basis need to send before closing permit)
a) Scrap metal
b) Anything which is unwanted because it is surplus, broken, worn-out, contaminated, or
spoiled in some other way.

c) Where there is some doubt about the composition of excavation spoils. it must be
analysed before it is removed off-site.
Waste disposal: All receptacles shall be constructed of metal or other suitable types of
containers of non- inflammable material, cardboard wooden boxes crates and similar type of
container shall not be used for collection of combustible waste.
Spate waste skips shall generally be provided for
a) Scrap metal
b) General construction waste
EMERGENCY PROVISION: Site supervisor must report any incident to Site Manager
immediately.
a) Supervisor must take off control over the danger and rescue over the incident.
b) Site manager must inform to the first aider.
c) First aider to reach at spot with first aid box, stretcher to provide first aid treatment and
raise siren/whistle in case of emergency.
d) Site manager to call ambulance (if required).
e) Site manager alerts to Doctor and ask for treatment (if required).
f) Site manager to inform Project Manager, client and concern government authorities if
required.
