V. Project Description

A. Background of the Problem

Surgical masks are used, as a means of protection from the inhalation of viruses.

According to Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development(OECD)

policy, COVID-19 caused a noticeable shortage in the supply of face masks because

of the sudden increase in demand. Due to this problem, CWTS students plan to assist

in giving free disposable face masks in San Pablo City to reduce the increasing

COVID-19 cases, especially against the threat of the new variants. This project

entitled “Safety Pantry: Assistance in Giving Free Surgical Masks in Selected

Barangay of San Pablo City” will help the community in aiding the shortage of masks

4
and prevent the increasing cases of Covid-19 in the community. This project will

commence with the collection of plastic bottles that will be used to raise a fund in

providing masks for the citizens of the selected barangay.

B. Project Beneficiaries
