1  Apabila subject dalam bentuk
singular, maka kata
kerja/auxiliary dalam singular
 Apabila subject dalam bentuk
plural, maka kata
kerja/auxiliary dalam plural
2  Apabila subject mendapat
awalan “every..., each of...,
either/neither of..., harus
dianggap singular
3  Subject yang menyatakan
jumlah; jarak, volume, berat,
uang, prosentase, dan waktu
dianggap tunggal, predikatnya
pun harus tunggal.
4  Untuk menentukan subject
utama dari frase panjang,
tinggal melihat kata sebelum
preposisi
5  Subject dari Gerund (Verb-ing)
harus dianggap singular
6  Subject “ A number of ....”
predikatnya jamak.
