Title: Introduction to Operations Management
Speaker/Company Name: Mrs. Raquel Dela Cerna Alce

Introduction:

Operations management is the way or means through which the

listed objectives of an operating system are achieved. It is a business

function that plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls the

resources needed to produce a company’s goods and services. Operations

management is a management function. It involves managing people,

equipment, technology, information, and many other resources (Sanders,

2013). According to Raquel Alce (2023), what sets their hotel apart

from other hotels is their reputation, high-quality products, and

services. In order to sustain a good image in the hospitality industry,

they need to ensure that the production of goods and services and the

responsibility of ensuring that the business operations are efficient

in terms of using as little resource as needed and effective. Through

operation management, we will meet the customer’s demand and the

conversion of inputs into outputs using physical resources will

provide the desired utilities to the customer while meeting the other

organizational objectives of effectiveness, efficiency, and

adoptability. All the other organizational functions are there

primarily to support the operations function. Without operations,

there would be no goods or services to sell.

Implications:

The role of operation management helping me as an Office

Administration student to be equip, apply the knowledge and skills by

being efficient, perseverant, multitasker, and productive which means

being able to complete tasks effectively and affordably on my future

career path.

Recommendations:

I appreciate having learned from Mrs. Raquel Alce how quickly

the hotel sector manages its reputation. I suggest she go into more

detail about her experience learning this material as a student in

the past, applying, and commencing her current employment.
