Q1:

A stepper motor has a 5ohm field resistance with a reluctance of 3mH.

If the motor is connected to 20V THROUGH A 5OHM resistor and Imax is 2a :

A- What is the time constant of the motor?

B- What is the current equation?
C- When does the current reach its maximum practically and theoretically?
D- What is the maximum rate of current and when it appears?

Q2: The circuit below represents a bipolar stepper motor.

a- Explain how it works.

b- Connect it to PORTB on PIC microcontroller (hint same microcontroller we used in the
lectures)
c- Draw the timing sequence of the stepping of the motor.

Q3: If the stator of a bipolar stepper motor has 6 poles and the rotor has 8 poles, what is the step of
the rotor?

If the rotation of the motor is 140RPM, how many pulses are required for each second?

Q4:

If a signal is given by :

Vout=10 + 6.2 sin(140t) – 5.3 cos(75*pi*t) + .5 sin(120*t+45)

a- What is Shannon's theorem?
b- What is the minimum sampling frequency used to aliasing in the Vout?
c- What is the range generally used?
