WHAT I HAVE LEARNED
Things I learned today about Peking Opera
• What I've learned about Peking opera is that it includes music, vocal
performance, mime, dance, and acrobatics. Peking opera, sometimes
known as Beijing opera, is the most popular kind of Chinese opera.
• The Peking opera first appeared in Beijing in the middle of the Qing dynasty
(1644–1912), and by the mid–19th century, it had reached its pinnacle of
development and popularity.
Things I found wonderful about Peking Opera
• What I loved about Peking opera was that it attempted to educate as well
as entertain by telling stories about history, politics, society, and everyday
life.
• The high-pitched singing, the chaotic-sounding music, and the language
barrier are all aspects of Peking opera that I find to be amazing.
Additionally, it talks about the amazing acrobatics and tumbles, as well as
how they play a significant role in Chinese history and culture.
