Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

This movie was released on September the 29th 2016 in a fantasy adventure genre. It all started
with a young boy named Jake, he went to Wales to discover what Abe, his grandfather who had died
unnaturally with his eyes white had hidden from him for years. Jake found an abandoned orphanage
and went inside, there he found a few of the children who are born special, they were sent by Miss
Peregrine to get Jake to 3rd September 1943. Miss Peregrine and her children live in a loop where
that loop resets time back to a day before 3/9/1943 exactly at 4.30 PM before an American bomb
dropped and crash the orphanage.

Miss Peregrine can make loops and resets time to prevent the peculiar children and herself dies
from the bomb dropped. There are hollowgasts made from Mr. Barron’s experiment mistake that
made the people in the experiment turn into a scary invisible monster that likes to eat eyeballs to
keep them in a human form. Jake's specialness is that he can see the hollowgasts while others can’t
which the peculiar children had been hiding from to keep them alive.

This movie has a book version, some said the book version was better but I choose the movie
because I would rather watch than read. The movie has a sympathetic feeling. The amount of care
and attention given to each character can be noticed clearly, especially for the highlighted genre
which is an adventure. It's a group-formed adventure where each member mostly the main
character Jake has to take care of each other for all members to survive. There are also a few hints of
romance in the movie which can melt away the watcher's heart at any moment.

At the end of their adventure, the time loop closes, which made the other peculiar children exclude
Jake back to their era on 3rd September 1943, but Jake continues to live in 2016. Abe came back to
life and the condition got better. Jake insisted on visiting back to 1943 but he doesn't know where
the rest of the peculiar children are, Abe said "You don't know where they are, but you knew where
they were" that sentence convinced Jake because it made Jake go back to 1943. Careless with all the
struggle Jake had to face to get to 1943. It proves his feeling of responsibility to take care of the
peculiar children substituting Abe who stopped looking after the peculiar children after Jake was
born to be able to protect his grandson, Jake.
