The relationship between the visible constellation in the sky and


earths position along its orbit.

B. Performance standard:
Discuss whether popular beliefs and practices with regards to
constellation and astrology have scientific basis.

C. Learning competency
Show which constellation may be observed at different times of the
year using. models (S9ES-111e-35)

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the discussion the students will be able to.


1. Identify the constellations visible in the night sky at different times
of the year.
2. Explain why the position of constellations changes throughout the night
and throughout the year .
3. Create your own star chart locate and identify specific constellations.

location ,for agricultural calendar,and
for time.

Now before we proceed to our topic we


will be having a short activity entitled
“Fix Me Im Broken’’

Yes ,exactly! Our topic for today is all


about constellations which is a (watching the video clip)
continuation of our topic last meeting.
With that , let’s watch a short video clip

What did you notice class from the video I have noticed that the positions of the

Yes steve? constellation are different .

You’re right ! What else? I noticed that different constellations


appear during the night .

That’s correct! Do you have any idea why It is because the earth’s orbit to its axis
the position of the constellation is and at the same time,it evolves around
different? the sun.

Correct !! As earth rotate on its axis,the Since the earth orbits the sun and rotates
stars appear to rotate in the sky.So what on its axis at the same time, we
will happen as the earth orbits the sun? experience seasons ,day and night ,and
changing shadows through out the day.

called “My Own Star Chart”

In this activity there will be 3 members


per group .

What will you do is to create your own (the student do the activity )
star chart for a particular time of the
year ,including at least 4 different
constellations.

Ex.

F. Finding Practical skills in a daily


living.

Aside from navigation,agricultural ,and Stars are so important because they

up the sky and give people light.In
addition stars are very important

To sum up ,what we have discussed!! I


have here a bowl and I called it “My
wishing bowl”

First ,everyone needs to write down what (The student start to write on the piece
you have learned from today’s lesson. of paper )

Next ,put that piece of paper on the (Putting the paper on the bowl)
bowl .

Lastly ,I will be playing music and while The student do the activity
the music is playing you need to pass the
bowl. When the music stops, the person
holding the bowl need to get a piece of
paper from it and read.
