This document provides instructions for creating an index field in Tableau to rank rows by a measure like sales, then filtering the visualization to only show the top N ranked rows. The steps are to create a calculated field using INDEX() to rank rows, convert it to discrete, place it on rows and filters, set table calculation options to restart for each region and sort by sales descending, then filter on the index range to view top sales.
