My name is Sai Thant Zin.

I was born on June 13, 1997, in Kyaikkhami, Thanbyuzuyut

Township, Myanmar. My NRC card number is 10/Tha Pha Ya (N) 156379.

In the 2013-2014 academic years, I passed the matriculation exam, and as soon as I
passed the exam, I lived in San Chaung Ward, Yangon. In the meantime, I attended the
Apprentice Program of Myan Shwe Pyi Company (CATERPILLAR) /MSP CAT since October, 2014.
Since October 1, 2018, I have been working as an official worker technician-1 for MSP CAT, and
while working for the company, I attended Mawlamyine University (distance learning
geography major) from 2019 and passed the first year. But due to the COVID-19 situation, I
postponed attending the university. In 2021, after the illegal coup by the Myanmar Terrorist
Military Council, as a university student,I also took part in the Civil Disobedience Movement
because I didn’t want to study anymore under the dictatorship.

On February 1, 2021, in Myanmar, my country, the military dictator arrested popularly

elected government leaders, especially democratic leaders, and an arbitrary coup occurred. An
illegal coup occurred at that time. I tried to take part in every activity as far as I could. Since that
time, as a pro-democracy citizen, the daily anti-dictatorship strikes in February were held in
Myaynigone, because the terrorist coup that continues to violate human rights and injustices is
unacceptable. Additionally, at the beginning of this situation, I also took part in nonviolent
demonstrations in front of the UN Embassy and other foreign embassies in Kamayut Township,
Sanchaung Township, and Bahan Township, and near Sule Pogada, as well as most of the areas
in Yangon.

At the end of February, the Coup Military Council launched a violent crackdown with
tear gas and rubber bullets against the innocent people who were protesting peacefully, and
the young people who did not accept the coup d'état wore body armor to resist the coup and
put up barriers at the protest site. Since then, in addition to personally participating, I had also
provided food, medicine, and necessary assistance to the people who were protesting
peacefully despite being crushed. In addition, CDM employees who did not want to serve under
the arbitrary rule of the military dictator were supported by those who could afford it.

Due to the coup d'état terrorist war council's inhumane killings, arbitrary arrests, and
torture, it is no longer possible to hold rallies around the end of March. Since then, I have been
collecting donations and making monthly deliveries for those who are still active against the
dictatorship in Mon State, Karen State, and Kachin State, those who were unjustly arrested and
tortured by the coup military council; and CDM staff friends. I supported money and also
manpower.

In April 2021, I was arrested and interrogated by the Terrorist War Council army at the
roundabout on Thanphyuzayat Mawlamyine highway road. (Needs to be rewritten)
On September 9, 2022, my friend and I were searched and interrogated by the military
council at the company where I worked with an arrest warrant for financial support, which is
labeled as Section 50(J) of the Terrorism Act- အကြမ်းဖက်မှုတို က်ဖြတ်မှုဥပဒေပု ဒ်မ၅၀(ည) . The
military council searched for the biographies of us, so I didn't come back to not only my home
but also my family and my country. Even though something was going to happen in my family, I
didn't have a chance to come back home. Because Myanmar military terrorists searched for me
all the time and in all the places I went. I continuously searched for my mother's and
grandmother's houses in my hometown by the terrorists. Therefore, I cannot continue living in
Myanmar because my life is in danger and it is no longer safe. I was well aware that if I returned
to Myanmar, I would be imprisoned or even executed because they had labeled me a section
50(J) terrorist.

So I tried to get out of the sights of the terrorists, and on September 11, I escaped from
Yangon to Mawlamyine with the help of one of my friends who lives in Mawlamyine. One week
later, after hiding my identity in Mawlamyine, I made the decision to go out of this city because
my life is very dangerous. As soon as I made this decision, I went to Myawaddi from
Mawlamyine on September 17th. Then, on September 18th, I escaped to Mae Sot (Thailand)
with my friend Shine Pyae Sone Hein.

With the help of an acquaintance in Mae Sot, Thailand, I live in a shelter in a house.
While two of us were in Thailand, it was not easy to live here in Mae Sot ( Thailand ) because
we lived here without any proof or permission. And then, the Thai police and immigration were
conducting frequent inspections in Mae Sot, and I was afraid of both the Thai government and
the Myanmar military. One of the scary things is that if I am caught by the Thai government, I
will be transferred to the hands of the Myanmar military. Therefore, the place where I am
currently sheltering is not safe for my life.

As the above mentioned, I am really and urgently requesting your help to get asylum in
a third country as soon as possible because I dare not think what my life will happen when I am
arrested by the Myanmar military and Thai government. So I need your true and honest help to
get a better shelter in the second country ( Thailand ) to protect my life even if it is difficult to
get asylum in the third country. I am hoping that you will help us through your sympathy and
humanity.
