In the UI Design Course, you will acquire solid knowledge and understanding of UI that
will equip you for your future career as a UI Designer. This is a complete course with all
the must knows of the industry and practical exercises applied to the project you will be
developing. By the end of this course you will have a case study ready to show in your
next job interview!

Susana has carefully crafted this comprehensive course to cover the funda-
mentals of UI Design, and will be in charge of the Q&A live sessions. She will
also be the career development coach for this UI Design course, providing a
live session to share her top tips to develop your portfolio, and the strategies
that will help you land your UI Design job based on her own experience.

Course Objectives, Structure,
Overview & Final Project
Course Objectives
n this course you will learn the basis of UI Design. You will gather the knowledge and understanding of the industry conventions,
patterns, methods and tools that will allow you to create beautiful and meaningful interfaces. You will start with sketching and
learn the basics of composition, grids, typography, color, interaction and motion. You will also learn how to test your high fidelity
prototype, not only that, once your designs are ready you will know how to prepare the handover to the developers.
Time Commitment
We estimate around 3 hours of learning spent per week of the 10 week course.
That’s a total of approximately 30 hours to complete the entire course (not including the final project or assignments)

Module 1
week Ideation: Sketching
Learn methods to generate ideas and start sketching a website/app for your project
Module 1
week Interaction Design Principles, Information Architecture, Sitemaps, Wireframes and Flows
Learn the basics of interaction design and continue to explore your initial sketches
by using them to create your first flow in low fidelity.
Module 1
week Prototyping and Usability Testing
Start moving your sketches into figma, and learn about research methods focusing
on usability testing.

week Composition & Structure, Grid, Styles / Buttons, Icons & Typography / Color
Learn the basics of visual design and apply it to your project.

Motion, Responsive and Adaptive Design, Design System, Atomic Design /
week Handoff to Developers
Learn basics to motion, responsive & adaptive design and how to create your design
system to then prepare your project to hand over to developers.

The goal of the first module is to understand the Design Process, what is UI Design and what a UI Designer does.

During the 5 modules of the course you’ll have the opportunity to create a UI Design Case from scratch, a great
way to start your portfolio as a UI Designer and to apply all the concepts learned during the course. Once you’ve
done and submitted it, you’ll receive feedback about it from the mentors. This final project is optional and you can
still obtain the certificate if you decide not to do it.
