Susana Passhinas
Lead Instructor
Susana is a Senior UX/UI Designer with over 15 years of experience. She has
worked as Visual Designer, Product Designer and UX/UI Designer. From small
UX boutiques to startups and scale-ups, from energy consumption to health
and services, from small to big teams, Susana has done it all. She joined
allWomen in 2020 teaching UX/UI Design and she felt so passionate about
teaching that she is now also mentoring UX/UI Design students from all over
the world.

An holistic approach to design and design processes, alongside with a strong


critical thinking and user centric mindset is what defines Susana as a profes-
sional. As an individual Susana has a high energy and a positive attitude
making the learning experience a delight!

Susana has carefully crafted this comprehensive course to cover the funda-
mentals of UI Design, and will be in charge of the Q&A live sessions. She will
also be the career development coach for this UI Design course, providing a
live session to share her top tips to develop your portfolio, and the strategies
that will help you land your UI Design job based on her own experience.

Uliana Musikhina
Industry Expert
Uliana Musikhina is a Senior Product Designer at Capdesk from
Carta, an art director, and a music lover. She works on user-centered concepts
and has been designing excellent digital products
in cross-functional teams since 2014.

Uliana will be the industry expert for this course, sharing a


real-life UI Design case.
What you will get
This course combines live sessions with flexible self-paced modules so you can get the best of both worlds for an
optimal learning experience. Learn from multimedia learning materials, take part in module assignments, and build
your own project that’s portfolio-ready. Each of our courses include:

1 A 5 module course over 10 weeks, 2 weeks per module

2 10 to 15 dynamic videos by your lead instructor

4 Up to 10 hands-on exercises

5 5 assignments for self evaluation of the concepts learned

Self-paced modules
Go at your own pace with our self-paced modules. Have a full 2 weeks to complete each module, or opt to take them at a more
leisurely pace to suit your schedule. Get access to a range of additional resources to further your learning, and take part in optional
assignments to put your knowledge to the test and further development.

Development cohorts
Expand your learning and hone in on your career goals with our development cohorts. These live sessions are hosted by industry
experts and coaches, and are specifically designed to be a hands-on experience where you can learn the tips and strategies you
need to land your dream job and master your daily goals.

Real world, practical projects


Apply what you have learned and hone your skills with weekly assignments based on practical, real-world examples. Your weekly
projects are specially created to come together for your final project. As a result, you’ll have created a real product case that you
can add to your portfolio to show companies what you can do.

Course Objectives, Structure,
Overview & Final Project
Course Objectives

n this course you will learn the basis of UI Design. You will gather the knowledge and understanding of the industry conventions,
patterns, methods and tools that will allow you to create beautiful and meaningful interfaces. You will start with sketching and
learn the basics of composition, grids, typography, color, interaction and motion. You will also learn how to test your high fidelity
prototype, not only that, once your designs are ready you will know how to prepare the handover to the developers.

Time Commitment
We estimate around 3 hours of learning spent per week of the 10 week course.
That’s a total of approximately 30 hours to complete the entire course (not including the final project or assignments)

week Ideation: Sketching
Learn methods to generate ideas and start sketching a website/app for your project

Learn the basics of interaction design and continue to explore your initial sketches
by using them to create your first flow in low fidelity.

The goal of the first module is to understand the Design Process, what is UI Design and what a UI Designer does.
You will learn methods to generate ideas and will start sketching the website/app that you will be developing during the course.

In this module, you will learn how to use data to frame problems, understand your target users, and determine
how to know if your product will be successful in providing value to their intended users.

Module 3: Prototyping and Usability Testing
In this module you will continue to develop your project by moving your sketches into Figma so that you can create your first
digital low fidelity prototype. You will learn about research methods focusing on usability testing. You will learn how to con-
duct usability test interviews, how to write scenarios and tasks, and how to prepare the interview script. You will practice by
doing your first usability test using your low-fidelity prototype.

Now that you know how to function as a Product Manager, it’s time to get that role! In this module, you will gain confidence
to apply for Product Manager positions in your dream company. You will learn how to position yourself as a qualified
Product Manager through communication and storytelling, one of the most critical skills in a Product Manager’s tool kit.

Final Project

During the 5 modules of the course you’ll have the opportunity to create a UI Design Case from scratch, a great
way to start your portfolio as a UI Designer and to apply all the concepts learned during the course. Once you’ve
done and submitted it, you’ll receive feedback about it from the mentors. This final project is optional and you can
still obtain the certificate if you decide not to do it.
