Good morning! Today I want to talk about what it means to be a mother.

Of course,
mothers are generally women who raise children, but not all of us are women and not all of us
are raising children, so I’m going to first describe some traits that mothers have.
First, mothers are faithful. Think of Sarah in the book of Genesis, who couldn’t have
children for a very long time. When promised a child, she trusted God to deliver.
Next, mothers sacrifice. Jochebed was Moses’s mother. She hid her son for months when
the Pharaoh demanded all the Jews be killed, and then she placed him in a basket that travelled
down the Nile.
Mothers teach. Lois and Eunice, Timothy’s mother and grandmother, taught him what he
knew. He eventually became a leader of the church in the New Testament.

- Faith - Emma Smith, Sarah, trusting when you don’t know everything
